2 star or 3 star? I choose 3 to be nice.

Good: it works as blue tooth receiver. easy to pair with different devices. The sound quality is not bad if there is no drop of signal. It has a USB to charge phones, although I did not try because I have enough USB port to charge cell phones. It ships really fast (I am using prime shipping)

bad: range is about 5-6 feet max, a little far away (using Mac) it will drop signal. Such a short range makes it virtually useless because any audio cable can easily run longer than that distance. It does not seem to auto reconnect. No power on/off switch.
And of course, the sound is delayed, so it is not good for watching video, only good for music. But I don't blame this product for the delay because that is a problem for similar products.

In conclusion, it is not broken or defect, it is just not great. I am going to keep it and try to use it when I can. I would not buy it again, and would not recommend it, mainly due to the range limitation.

Great Audio Streaming, but nearby WiFi equipment causes skipping/studdering

This is a great BT audio device. Connected to the switched AC outlet on the back of a 1980's era Technics receiver and piped through an unused AUX input (utilizing a proper 3.5mm -> stereo RCA cable I already owned), music from my phone/iPad sounds incredible. Since this old stereo does not have a remote control, it is nice to be able to control the volume from my phone/iPad. That works great, too.

HOWEVER, the Mpow device IS susceptible to radio frequency interference from nearby WiFi equipment (not just routers, but laptops, Rokus, cable company boxes, smart TV's etc). Bluetooth and the various 802.11x WiFi standards _both_ operate on 2.4GHz frequencies (as do some land-line cordless phones, I believe), so interference is possible and not necessarily a design flaw.

When streaming through my Mpow, my music was very choppy and "skipped" or "stuttered" whenever the XBox (located about 1 foot from the Mpow receiver) streamed any content from the internet over WiFi. (In case you're wondering how I discovered this, I was "watching" a soothing aquarium video using the YouTube app on my XBox while listening to music from my iPad, streamed to my stereo over the Mpow BT receiver.)

Since the Mpow was new, I assumed the skipping meant it was somehow faulty. Skipping is annoying and at first seemed completely random. Then I tried an experiment with my usually perfectly-working Harmon Kardon BT speaker located about 2' from the XBox. I found that it, too, occasionally stuttered, though not as much as the Mpow. Maybe the extra one foot of distance helped, or perhaps it uses a larger antenna or some other improvement due to its large size. (The Mpow is tiny, after all.)

Regardless, the YouTube video ended during this experiment, thus the XBox was no longer streaming content over WiFi. The skipping completely stopped almost immediately. That's when I finally put all the clues together and began thinking about frequency interference.

I ran a wired connection between my XBox - the nearby WiFi device causing interference - and my router. This _completely_eliminated_ the skipping I experienced with the Mpow. I am now able to simultaneously stream content on the XBox without causing problems for the Mpow. (The XBox automatically closes its WiFi connection when it has a wired one, thus eliminating the frequency interference.)

If you are having the same skipping/stuttering problem and a eliminating WiFi interference with a hard-wired network connection is not feasible for you, try increasing the distance between this Mpow receiver and the WiFi equipment causing the interference. Put the Mpow on the end of an extension cord and experiment with placement.

Alternatively, if you are still considering which device to purchase and your media set-up has WiFi equipment near your stereo receiver, get the small square-hockey-puck Mpow receiver that has a separate power supply. That will allow flexibility of placement without using an extension cord.

NOTE: Even though you may have a dual-band WiFi router (2.4/5GHz), there are still a lot of modern devices that are only able to use the 2.4GHz WiFi band. Even new laptops advertising 802.11b/g/n may only have the 2.4GHz radio. Specifically, 802.11n does not _require_ the 5GHz band. My XBox is several years old and only supports the 2.4GHz WiFi band.

I blame neither the XBox nor the Mpow for the problem I had. The signals just interfered.

Other reviewers describing choppy audio problems may have actually had problems with interference from nearby WiFi equipment.

I'd definitely buy it again and I have already recommend it to friends.

Great unit, works for my use...

1st, I'd like to thank seller (Mpow/Patozon) for excellent customer service by sending a replacement unit quickly.

2nd, the replacement works great and doesn't have the range issue of the first unit I got.
My audio rack is in a built in wall cabinet and the first unit worked great from the front but was not having good connection from the side wall direction.

Replacement unit works fine from the side wall as well as from a room away with two walls in between so very good.
It's small and looks good. I added a foot extension cable on the back of receiver's a/c outlet so the unit sits on top of receiver and it's easy to unplug and move it around the house plus it exposes the unit for better reception than hidden behind the receiver.
Sound quality is very good and volume level is slightly lower than my Note2 connected directly but not by much.
When I turn on bluetooth in my phone, I have to click on the Mpow to connect but that could be because I have mutliple bluetooth gears listed to select from.
I mostly use online music apps like Spotify, Pandora, Youtube etc... and MP3 files.

I read some have issues playing FLAC but I don't use FLAC and haven't tested it yet. Will do that as a test and update.

It comes with a 3.5mm male/male stereo cable but since none of my receivers and amplifiers have 3.5mm input, I'm using a 3.5mm headphone to dual RCA cable.
Overall, a great unit to add for wireless convenience without losing sound quality.
