Paired well with my Mac running 10.7. This is not a shortcoming of the shield, but just be aware that Apple iOS (iPad, iPod, iPhone) will not pair with this shield because of Apple's restrictions. It does pair easily with a Samsung device running Android.
Because I was having this issue, I thought I could look for support online. Turns out the only support Seeed offers is a wiki page that only describes how to set it up. I had no problem with the setup. It actually worked well. However when I implemented it on a project of my own, the thing was useless.
Unless you are ONLY using a master/slave application (where the Arduino only reacts to a master inquiring for data), STAY AWAY FROM THIS THING!
Acer Aspire One
Samsung Galaxy S II
Google Nexus S 4G
Microsoft Surface Pro
It did pair with an old windows XP netbook I had, but I could only send data one way (from the arduino to the computer, not the other way around)
Also, the tutorials that SeedStudio provides for this shield do not work. The code they provide actually does no even compile. Will be returning this product and buying a different bluetooth shield if possible.
for info on connecting to pc, android, or other bluetooth as well as technical info and what not and code for arduino

I just received mine, and to my dismay, it is not assembled. It also didn't come with a wiring diagram, so I'd like for it to be replaced with one that's fully wired.Published on August 23, 2014 by tom
