Who needs a thin pillow and how does it work? This pillow is designed for stomach sleepers, back sleepers, those who sleep with their arm under the pillow, and even small-framed side sleepers. Firm support keeps your neck, back and shoulders in proper alignment throughout the night. This pillow's thin profile and firm support can dramatically reduce muscle strain responsible for the aches and pains associated with sleeping on a regular pillow.

What is CarbonBlue? CarbonBlue is a propietary water-based temperature regulating technology made from heat regulating phase change materials enhanced with the thermal conductive properties of carbon. Unlike a hard plastic gel layer, CarbonBlue is breathable and does not add excessive weight to your pillow. CarbonBlue is nontoxic and made in the USA.

Common questions and concerns based on our reviews:

Does this pillow smell like chemicals? - New memory foam doesn't smell very good. CertiPUR-US certified or not, it may still need to air out. We promise, it will go away. In the meantime, you can run the pillow in a clothes dryer on low-medium heat for 20-30 minutes to significantly accelerate the process. We also recommend washing the outer cover.
One person said the pillow was too firm. Another said it was too soft. How is this possible? - We consider this to be a firm pillow, but firm to one person may feel soft to another and vice-versa. If your pillow doesn't feel just right, we usually have an alternative available.
One person said the pillow was too thick. Another said it was too thin. How is this possible? - One size does not fit all. We offer various heights ranging from 2.5 to 4.25 inches. We are happy to help you find the right height if your original purchase isn't perfect.
Can I wash it? Someone washed it and it broke in half. - Please do not wash the memory foam pillow core in a washing machine. It will tear. It can get wet and cleaned by hand, but it can not handle the machine. You can, however, machine wash and dry the outer cover.

Instant CarbonBlue Cooling CarbonBlue is a water-based phase change material surface coating infused with graphite to provide instant cooling relief. Unlike traditional hard gel layers, this innovative feature adds no weight and does not reduce air circulation. CarbonBlue is made in the USA.	Gel-Infused & Ventilated We infused temperature regulating gel particles into the foam core to increase heat transfer and dissipation. Additionally, ventilation holes increase air circulation. Comfort is important, but nothing is more important than your health. All Bluewave Bedding pillows are made with CertiPUR-US certified 3 lb. open cell gel-infused memory foam. It is hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant, mold and mildew resistant, and durable.

Memory Foam Odor

While all memory foam does have an initial odor, CertiPUR-US certified memory foam has low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million).

Perfect for Side-Sleeper / Arm Under Head Sleeper

Love this pillow! I sleep in a rather unique way...I'm a side-sleeper but I keep my arm stretched out under my head. So I've been researching the best pillow to use for my sleep position. I have tried the bamboo foam filled pillows but they were too bulky and lifted my head too high. I've also tried thin flimsy pillows aka "pancake pillows" from major department stores but they didn't provide the support I needed. I finally decided to try a slim profile memory foam pillow. I figured perhaps the combination of the memory foam with a slim design would work for me. I was right! This combination is perfect for how I sleep. I can comfortably fit the pillow on top of my arm while laying in a side-sleeper position and the thin profile does not lift my head too high. The memory foam is supportive but not too firm. It's perfect! I am so thrilled to have found this pillow. It arrived in a nice carry bag and had no chemical smells at all. I was able to use it the very night I received it. If you have an unusual sleep position like me, you won't be disappointed with this purchase!

Beware you are charged for returning this item. I have never had to pay for a return on Amazon so I did not know this. It cost me eight dollars to test this pillow out. I actually like the pillow. It is cooler than the other one I ordered and Certi-pur certified foam so I felt safer about the foam but it was still just a dab too thick for me. This was closer to 3" maybe 2.75" It is med soft, supportive yet still some give. If it had been either more plush or 2-2.5" it would have been perfect. But as it is with the level of soft support was still a bit too thick for me. I wish I could combine this with the elite rest ultra slim. The elite was super soft which I love but for being that soft needs to be a tad thicker or a tad firmer my head sinks to a very thin layer between my head and the bed, like a quarter of an inch.

I can't decide which I like better--the 3.25" or the 2.5" pillow. The 3.85 was too high for me and I sent that one back. But I really like both of the lower loft pillows. At the moment, the 2.5" is my favorite. I was shocked that such a slim pillow worked for me. The neck pain I had every morning is gone! Also I have very sensitive ears, and this pillow doesn't aggravate them. It's long enough to wrap my arm around, and lightweight enough to put my arm underneath. One of the things I like better about the 3.25" pillow is that it is rounded on both sides, so I can flip it over and use either side. The 2.5" is flat on the bottom. I do believe the 2.5" pillow is slim enough that I could pack it in the bottom of my suitcase for a travel pillow. OR, I've even considered buying another one and cutting it in half to use as a travel pillow. The other half would be perfect for between my knees. Finally, the reason I started a search for a new pillow was because my old memory foam pillow was so hot! This one has solved that problem for me, along with other problems I didn't even realize I had!

I’ve been using this pillow for 6 mos now and I love it. Some ppl were complaining how slim it was...what were they expecting with the words "extra slim" in the title? If your neck and back can handle a very slim gel pillow, then this is the pillow for you. It is super soft. I bought the zippered, allergen free pillowcase cover to go with it. Also, I'd air it out a little before using it. The only downside is it gets warm. I have shoulder length hair and I get warm in the middle of the night (BTW. I’m not prone to being warm). If you try and flip it over to get cooler side, it's flat on one. Sooo....if you run hot probably not the best pillow for you. Also, I use it on top of a regular pillow at times. Gives it a little cushion. Good purchase and price. Reviews say it all!

I have experienced neck pain, tension headaches, etc. for many years. I can't find comfort sleeping on regular sized pillows anymore, and had been sleeping on the thinnest pillow I had in the house which was a ratty old thing. I decided to try finding myself a nicer pillow.

When I say I want a thin pillow, I mean THIN. This pillow was the thinnest new pillow I found listed and the price was good so I took a chance and I don't regret it.

This pillow is flat on one side but I didn't realize it, so the first night I actually woke up thinking it was pretty uncomfortable. Then I realized I had it upside down. I think it is a good feature because it helps keep the support by having one side flat.

The zippered cover on this is soooo soft and cozy! I love it. The pillow seems extremely high quality. I'm not normally into memory foam but I haven't woken up with neck pain caused by sleep.

If I could offer any possible improvements to this pillow, considering my neck problems, I'd LOVE if I could get this pillow with an indentation for my head so that I could have a super flat sleep with mostly JUST my neck being supported by the pillow. That would be my dream pillow!
