Arrow, he was a innocent character right from the beginning with regards to the world around him. I was heartbreaking to see the struggles that he went through because the whole time I just wanted to rape him in my arms and sooth him. Throughout the book it was a uphill climb where the person I believe he was really battling with was himself.
Hopper, I have to say I loved him from the start. It was hard to watch was unfolding in front of him in the beginning because there are clues that show you what is going to happen. He was a very closed off person from everyone, which was his way of not just falling down and giving up. What I saw in him was a truly caring person capable of having love and his journey throughout the book was amazing to watch, although there were several struggle that he had to fight with = himself.
What these two characters were was shattered men. Nobody understood what they were truly going through until the meet each other, as though they were kindred soul. Both jagged in ways that although they didn't fit nobody else would complete them but each other.
Overall this would be one of the first books I would recommend reading, they are such wonderful characters that you can't help but the fall in love with them and wish them the happiest ever after.
I have so many highlights in this book, probably the most of any book on my Kindle. I hadno clue how strongly I was going to be affected by this book, by Arrow and Hopper and everything they went through. The first third of this book had me tearing up at practically every page- and that pretty much continued through the whole book. Ok, maybe it was every other page the last 2/3s, but my goodness...this book, these characters, just broke my heart. If you've read the previous 3 books in the GearShark series you have kind of an idea of that Arrow has had a rough go of it in life, but seriously- you have no clue at the depth of his hurt and agony until you read #Blur.
#TrewLove will always be my favorites, but Arrow and Hopper have burrowed themselves into a special place in my heart. So much heartache and pain that they've both lived through, it was hard to read about at times. But my how perfect they were for each other, broken, jagged pieces and all.
What were the odds? The odds that two men so shattered would meet? The odds that all our broken pieces would somehow fit together to create something whole?
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 4th in the Gearshark series and ends in an HEA. I don’t think I’ve read a character that evokes so much empathy as Arrow. His backstory was so hard to read. Arrow has such a truly pure soul. Even after his trauma, Arrow remained basically the same in personality, only separating himself from strangers.
>Hopper suffers a horrific loss in his past, losing the love of his life. Hopper, however, undergoes a significant personality change. He was outgoing and cocky once, now introverted and quiet. Hopper and Arrow together were such a good fit. Trent and Drew make a few brief appearances. They both show unconditional love and support to Arrow, while threatening Hopper if Arrow is ever hurt.
>There is a lot of action in this story. Descriptions of actual moto, auto and snowmobile racing really give the story a unique flavor, different from the Hashtag series. Watching the relationship between Arrow and Hopper unfold, so slowly and carefully, was beautiful to read, whether the romance was M/M or M/F. I guess that fact is what makes the Gearshark series so different from other M/M series. This series is not about same sex love. This series is about love, period.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 5 stars. This series is a once in a lifetime series that shouldn’t be missed.
This was not just a love story it was so much more. Love lost, abuse, rape and infinity.
Arrow and Hoppers story was one of my top books of this year. It covered so many different topics. There was however a downfall. I felt it was unfinished in a way. What happened to the men that killed Matt? Did Hopper reconnect with his family? Was there any jail time given to the man that raped Arrow? This is why I gave it only 4 stars.
Other than some unanswered questions I truly loved these two broken men. To find this kind of love after what they had both been through was amazing. I loved seeing Drew and Trent and their acceptance of this relationship before it was even that. How they truly cared for Arrow and looked out for him. I think we saw a side to Lorhaven here aswell. His love for his brother and willingness to do anything to protect him. Overall this was a great book but could have done with an epilogue maybe.
