I saw B. Monkey on HBO, liked it o.k. and so took a chance on Boarding Pass, sight unseen. Mind you, B. Monkey was passably good only because it was an improbable, and so interesting, love story.
Boarding Pass has less love, more carnage and more improbability and is less (or no) satisfying except relief that it's over.

The saving grace, kind of, is the brief exposure of her breasts, which seems to be a signature move of hers. Not really enough to save the picture, but at least an honest try.

I "streamed" this because I have enjoyed several other Assayas films and I had never seen Asia Argento and was a little curious thanks to the recent sex scandal news.
Maltin called this film Eurotrash and though I am not sure what that means, it sounds about right. The film is mainly in English but also French and Chinese (Mandarin?). So your CC button will be put into play.
The promo material calls this an "erotic thriller" but it did not excel in either genre. Argento is intense but not nuanced and she does not articulate well, so that her Italian English accent is often unintelligible.
Not really sexy but tries hard to be kinky. The characters are uniformly unappealing.

Asia Argento is a great actress, watch Heart is Deceitful and you'll see why. This film is equally as entertaining but in a different way. This is rare film where the viewer is going along with Asia through the entire story. We don't see the bad dude's perspective or are warned of upcoming events. The film plays out moment to moment with a decent amount of tension. I won't go into plot details since you can read that yourself. I prefer to give an idea of how the film plays out. If that description doesn't interest you, go away!

Die Zuschauer wurden von der Peinlichkeit durch den Schuss der Hauptdarstellerin mit dem Stempel über dem Arsch erlöst. Eigentlich zwei oder drei Sterne. Immerhin sieht man ne Menge von Hongkong und sagt sich, dass man diese Stadt besser filmisch besucht als einen Flug zu buchen, sicher ist sicher.

Asia Argento zählt zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsschauspielerinnen und etliche ihrer Filme sind Teil meiner DVD-Sammlung. Deshalb habe ich die DVD natürlich gleich bestellt bzw. vorbestellt. Ich war sehr gespannt auf den Film da der Trailer Spannung versprach - doch weit gefehlt. Die ersten 40 Minuten ziehen sich einfach nur langsam und langweilig dahin. Keine Spannung, von Action keine Spur und die Dialoge sind mehr als nur langweilig wie die Vorredner schon geschrieben haben. Nach 45 Minuten habe ich die DVD rausgenommen weil ich so gar keine Lust mehr auf diesen Film hatte. Erst ca. 2 Wochen später habe ich mir den Rest angesehen. Action und Spannung gibt es lediglich in den letzten 20 Minuten aber selbst das reisst einem nicht vom Hocker. Selbst Asia kann mich in diesem Film überhaupt nicht überzeugen. Schwacher Film, schwache Leistung der Darstellung. Würde ich keine 5 Euro für ausgeben. Ganz klar - keine Kaufempfehlung...
