I purchased this paper to make my own targets for the pistol/rifle range. After creating a stencil of a silhouette target, I hung this roll on the wall of my garage. I setup a work table on some sawhorses, and pull the paper down to paint 2'x3' targets for about $.30 each. Paper is thick enough to accept paint. We have even used some of it for the kids to draw/color on. Perfect for what I needed.

The name is misleading. This is not butcher paper and not suitable for food use.

This is craft paper only.

We purchased to give the grandkids something to draw on. They have loved it.
We are also using it to "imagine" what we are going to do in some remodeling projects. We put it on the wall and imagine where certain equipment, shelves, etc will be placed on a wall.

Not really what I would call butcher paper, more like tracing paper but works great for me printing house plans on it with my epson 9800 printer. Set the print darker and comes out quite good. Not prone to taring and hold up pretty good. At first I thought it was too see through but not a problem. Can't beat the price.

We bought this for our preschooler's easel, since we didn't buy a big name brand one, and none of the readily available easel paper rolls were large enough (easel has a 24" square surface). I was a little leery, because the roll seemed prohibitively expensive and was described as "butcher paper." Reviews declaring it as craft paper, not true butcher paper tipped the scales.

When the roll arrived, I was, well, surprised. Clearly, I have a difficult time conceiving of proportions, because 900' is a LOT of paper! Being used to the tiny rolls of brand name easel paper, I was unprepared for a roll of paper that weighed nearly as much as my child, and was almost as thick as my forearm. I count this as a good thing, since I won't need to get more paper for the foreseeable future. That being said, storing it can be an issue for smaller spaces, since it is large and heavy. I'm not going to plunk down $25 for a commercial cutter, though eyeing my husband's job of having off sheets I might have to reconsider that.

As said, the paper isn't how I conceive of butcher paper, since it's not got the smooth, moisture repelling properties I associate with butcher paper. It might indeed have the water repelling properties, I haven't really had occasion to try it. It works well as art paper, though, and holds up well to markers, ballpoint pens, crayons, colored pencils. It's not, however, as opaque as the name brand easel paper. The paper is substantial, but has some translucency. We still use the both sides of the paper for day-to-day artwork, but the original artwork is faintly visible on the reverse side.

It's great paper, and I can see it being useful for a variety of mediums and applications.

This is a huge roll of butcher paper! It is very good quality. Thick as expected to be. I bought it for multipurposes for my kids. I put a large sheet on the table for play doh and other crafts to make easy clean up. I use it for them to color and paint on. I have used it to wrap presents and make birthday cards. I don't have a dowel to store it on which would be easiest. I do have it in a cabinet where it easily rolls out of. I keep a pair of scissors there too so I can always easily cut as much as I need. The size could be overwhelming if you don't have a place to store it easily.

I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a flimsy light weight paper and while this is not poster board or too thick, it is a very strong. The white color is also nice, not too bright but not yellow or tan like some newsprint.

We have a 24" wide coffee table, and I bought this to cover it so my son could color on it with crayons, markers, finger paint. It's probably a bit too thin for the finger paint, but the coffee table had already sustained a lot of other unrelated damage so that aspect wasn't a deal breaker.
