Put on some Jimmy Buffet, and with the opening chords of ‘Son of a Sailor’, your blood pressure drops, you can’t help but smile a little wistfully, you close your eyes and like magic, you’re on your trusty ketch, outbound from the Dry Tortugas and your destination is, well….to be determined. ‘Boats, Bars, Beaches, and Ballads’ is essential Buffet at his finest. Sometimes funny, sometimes sardonic, often sentimental, but always optimistic. His voice is good, but certainly not great and his songwriting is sometimes awkward, but seemingly always touches a nerve. If you like Jimmy Buffet, you need….no, you deserve this set. I’m not an ‘audiophile’, so I can’t attest to the quality of the recordings, but on my somewhat minimalist audio set-up, it’s perfectly fine, and besides, does Buffet need perfect audio quality? Do you have a high-end stereo set-up on that ketch? Just get this set and find ‘That One Particular Harbor’. You can thank me later.

Yes, it's everybody's favorite party animal Jimmy B. After many years I finally broke down and bought this box set & now I still don't know why it took so long. Whether you're a die-hard Parrot Head or new to Jimmy B, doesn't matter. What matters is this is a must have for " anyone's " collection. Some will argue certain favorites were omitted but that doesn't matter. What matters is it's " Time to Chill " with Jimmy so, get your favorite cold drink, sit back, relax, and listen to Jimmy and forget about the trouble & drama going on around you. Highly recommended listening for everyone. This is THE BOX SET YOU MUST HAVE.

This is the one to buy. It has all of his top hits and a great sampling of his other copious inventory of music. I bought this as a digital download in 2010 and the computer it was on corrupted. I had a few of the song on an mp3 player, but lost way too many, some of them songs I had not heard by him before. Amazon was AMAZING. They refunded my digital download price and I immediately bought one of the few hard copies still available. There is a treasure trove of music here. If you love Jimmy Buffett but have never bought any of his music, this is the one to buy!
