That said, if I were buying this DVD soley for the purpose of getting in shape, I have to agree with others' comments that it could use some additions. It would be helpful to know what weights the models are lifting, with some pointers on how to select & progress appropriate weights. I'd also personally like to see a more gradual warm-up, and a cool-down with more stretching. But that's not a big problem to me. And no, there ain't no cardio, but in the brochure I believe there was a schedule for doing cardio on your own. Personal trainers probably spend most of their client time on resistance training, expecting the clients to do cardio on their own time. (Otherwise you'd be paying big bucks for a trainer to stand around and watch you jog!)
I'd say, use this DVD two, or better three, times per week, starting out with light weights and gradually progressing only as you are comfortable; remember that FORM is what's important, you can always add weight later on when you've gotten stronger. (It's best not to rush to heavier weights, because tendons & ligaments take more time to build up than muscles do, and it's not worth risking an injury.) On the other days do your choice of cardio, like the brochure says. Take one day off from all exercising so your body can rest. And gently stretch AFTER your workouts. That should get you in good shape!
Seriously, the workouts are not time consuming for those who have little time and they get harder gradually. I really like the variety in the ab exercises. Since I haven't finished the DVD I should come back after my return to exercise. I did get to the 4th week and I could feel the work being done.
