Product Description
This is a two ounce bottle of Bob Smith Industries INSTA-CURE+ Gap Filling CA Glue. INSTA-CURE+ is a higher viscosity CA for loose fitting joints in which the adhesive must bridge gaps. Normally, the thicker CA is applied to one surface and then the parts are held tightly together for about 5 to 15 seconds. For large surface areas, including those with close fitting joints such as laminations, INSTA-CURE+ should also be used. To prevent premature curing, don’t spread the glue into a thin film. Lay down a serpentine bead with about 1" separations on one surface, then assemble the parts, letting the pressure spread the CA out.

I first encountered this magic stuff when I swiped a bottle from my husbands model ship building supplies. Needless to say, he never got it back!
I love and adore my Insta Cure - here's why: I often find myself attempting to bond the ODDEST things together.
Rubber + wood? No problem.
Plastic + paper? Yep.
Apoxie Sculpt + Polymer Clay? Absolutely.
Plus, I've discovered that when paired with FabriTac Adhesive, this creates a bond that I TRUST over time to hold heavy and awkward items together.
One of my very favorite uses: saturating the edges of cut and laminated layers of chipboard. Once the Insta Cure has dried, the chipboard becomes almost wood-like in it's ability to be shaped with sanding. Fantastic - no more fuzzy and fraying layers of paper fiber!
The additional working time, coupled with the almost gel consistency have made me a fan for LIFE!
The thicker formula, on the other hand, just takes too long to dry, for my needs, and you pretty much have to clamp whatever you're trying to glue together when using it.
Then there is this formula. It's AWESOME. It's not so thin that you can't control it--it won't seep all over your project, and it dries quickly enough that you don't need to clamp most projects. And, boy, is it effective. I've used it on everything from rattan to velvet to ceramics to wood and plastic. It has never let me down.
Bonds great, hardens vary quickly if you have good plastic surfaces to glue together. Takes longer if there are gaps, and or it's metal to metal, but it still works. I've been told there's an instant hardening additive, but I've never used it. Fully cures in a couple hours.
The only issue I've had it the cap getting glued on once or twice, but it was probably my fault for not making sure there was no excess glue.
Fair warning, I don't know what causes this, but if this gets on paper towels, it gets very hot. Otherwise, it's fine on your skin, just remember that it's still glue, so don't be a moron and glue yourself to something.
