Product Description

The Boba Carrier 3G includes more than a dozen features making this carrier truly one of a kind! The Boba G3 elegantly accommodates the widest age range of any of the soft structured carriers, from newborn to preschooler. It allows newborns to be worn in a pouch style carry that works well with their natural tendency to keep arms and legs pulled in, and requires no special inserts or accessories. As the baby gets older, you can do a regular front carry with legs out. It is also a superior back carrier for toddlers and even preschoolers with a very tall body that prevents leaning, a wide seat that prevents leg dangle, and unique footstraps. Other exciting improvements include storage pockets, adjustability of the sleeping hood, and shoulder strap holders to keep your purse or diaper bag from slipping off your shoulder when carrying your baby in the Boba.

Let me start off with the fact that a product must truly move me (either in a positive or a negative way) for me to write a review. For this first time mom the Boba 3G is pure bliss. Taking after her father I presume, my 5 week old daughter gets extremely gassy. She arches her head back and her tummy is totally tight. She is almost inconsolable and screaming at the top of her little amount of patting on the back, walking around, or other means of burping seems to work. When this happens, we break out the Boba and go for a walk. After mere minutes, she is relaxed and we are walking around. A couple more minutes and she is asleep. This gives me free time to do the dishes, laundry, hey, even write this review (yes, she is in it now). As any time-strapped parent can tell you, free time is priceless (as an aside, I put a value on my time of at least $10/hr. Being that I swear this has soothed her for over 15 hours so far, it has well paid for itself already!). Although the Boba does not help her gas directly, it calms her down enough so over time the gas can naturally work out of her making her once again a happy baby.

Positive notes about my experience:
- My daughter is 9.5 lbs now and I can easily go hours with her in it. Obviously having no baby strapped to your chest would be more comfortable, but the Boba is in no means uncomfortable for me.
- My husband uses this more than I do! In fact, he had been using it for 2 weeks before I had even given it a try. I was at first reticent to use it as I did not know if I would be able to get it on and off with her in it by myself. This has not been a problem at all. Even the snap on the top of the back is easy to do by yourself.
- The customer service is excellent!

I bought the Boba 3G to replace my Baby Bjorn. I had read that the Baby Bjorn was bad for my baby's body and my husband found the Baby Bjorn to be extremely uncomfortable. The Boba seems to hold my 25 lbs 10 1/2 mos. baby's body in a better position, knees even with the hips, but there is room for improvement. First it is almost impossible to put on (especially on the back) without help. Also it is so low on the back that my girl cannot see anything. She would be happier if she could see over my shoulder. Also if she falls asleep there is no support for her head. There is a sleeping hood, which works well, but unless you have super long arms is very difficult to use without help. Also, I am thin and I find that the Boba is too wide for me. I have adjusted the straps and the front chest and waist buckles to as narrow as they go and it is still not fitted enough. Also, it is difficult for my baby to find a comfortable place to put her arms. They are tucked under my arms in my armpits (which is very uncomfortable for me), tucked between us in front of her body (which is again uncomfortable for me because it's like she's pushing off of me), or she has to push down the sides of the carrier to have free movement of her arms. Finally it is super hot, especially if she wets her diaper. When my husband uses it, they both come home covered in sweat. Overall I think it's a good carrier, but I think it is better suited to a slightly older child--maybe 2 and up. I am considering getting either the Babyhawk or the Ergo to use until my little one gets bigger. I wish someone would design a forward facing front carrier for a larger child. My girl loves to be in the front where she can participate in whatever we're doing. Or if I'm stuck with a back carrier I wish the support straps were against my body not over the baby's arms.

We bought this for our 2.5 year old who weighs just over 30 pounds. He has never liked to be contained but we are traveling and needed a way to keep him comfortable on long walking treks. We carry him both in the front and on the back. I like to carry him in the front so I can hold him but my husband wears him on the back and rides the bike with him. He is very secure in this carrier. We roll it up and stick it in the backpack in the morning and use it once he gets tired. He actually falls asleep in it!! It was hard to find something for a larger baby (since he is technically a toddler) but this has worked out very well. He never liked his stroller or cheaper front carrier we had when he was really tiny. I would definitely recommend this item!! I love it - his weight sits in my hips rather than in my shoulders. This was very important to me because I do not have a strong back and he weighs over 30 pounds!! I can use it by myself when he is in the front but we help each other when he goes on the back. Great product!!

I love this carrier. My daughter is 35 lbs now and she still fits fine in it with no issues. It's very comfortable to wear, super adjustable (to my 5'2 frame and my husband's 6'2 frame), and I really like the soft padding on all the straps that go to the shoulders and hips. My daughter is very comfortable in it as well, the cover for the head is great for keeping the head still when she sleeps. The back hold is just as comfortable as the front hold. I can wear this carrier pretty much the whole day with no pain or discomfort, which is saying a lot. I've tried a lot of different carriers and I'd say this one is as good as the soft wraps, but with much more support. It is also very easily adjustable while you have the baby in the carrier, so you don't need to take it off every time to adjust something. I will be buying an infant insert for this to wear with my second child.
