About the Author

Laura Lee Hope was born (sort of) in 1904, when the pseudonym was first used for the first volume of “The Bobbsey Twins.” She is not a real person, and in fact, quite often was a man. Most of the time, the books with her name were written by Howard R. Garis and his wife Lilian Garis. There are literally hundreds of works using this penname, spanning nearly three decades. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Something made me think about the old Bobbsey Twins books I read as a kid, so I ordered one for my Kindle. It was fun reminiscing. These books are of course not literary masterpieces, but I enjoyed reading them as a child and it was interesting to revisit this one as an adult.

I got the book hoping my 8 year old granddaughters would enjoy the series as I did as a young girl. They really didn't care for it at all. I enjoyed the memories of reading them as a child but the girls don't want to read or hear more.

As I continue to read the stories of the Robbery twins it never ceases to amaze me on how the smaller twins get into so many predicaments. It is also interesting to pick up on the attitudes displayed toward different cultures in the early 1900's.

I loved these when I was younger, but they don't seem to have the same appeal as they did then. If you're a kid, they're still great, but if you're trying to reread them as an adult, they're only okay.

This book took me for a ride in the way-back machine. I still have several of my Bobbsey Twins books from childhood. They still delight me to this day.

Read the Bobbsey Twins as a child and was fun to return to the fond memories. They were always doing something interesting

A nostalgic trip to a time and place that exists in our childhood memories. If we could only stay there just a little longer.
