I bought this French Press a few weeks ago, partly because I can't resist anything small and cute :) Seriously though, I'd been using a larger one from a popular swedish furniture store for about a year. But I only made half a caraffe full, so this one seemed like a good idea. I make one cup of coffee at a time (I'm the only coffee drinker) and this makes a perfect amount for one large mug plus a little milk. It's not 3 servings, but generally one "cup" of coffee is understood to be 4 or 6 ounces, not an actual 8 ounce cup.

I can feel the quality difference between this one and my $15 press from the aforementioned furniture store. Easy to clean, cute, and makes great coffee :) Perfect for me!

We bought the Bodum Brazil in green. It was lighter and seems different in terms of quality from the earlier models we had used in the past. The Brazil has a plastic or vinyl nut holding the screen-disks to the metal shaft-- unlike previous models, the nut becomes soft in the warm water, and releases its grip on the shaft. I called Bodum and they said "Yup it's defective, let me send you a new part." New part comes, it is installed, it works perfectly. Bodum, it's SO refreshing to find a corporate customer service line not staffed by total douchebags, and it's so great that you admitted the problem and just. . .FIXED IT. They admitted the product had a flaw, fixed it for free, and that was that. Awesome.

works beautifully, but it's a little less than enough coffee. it really only makes one serving, and i wish it were a little more generous. otherwise, it's perfect. easy to clean, lightweight, easy to use.

The product is of very good quality. It performs as it was designed. We enjoy the dark coffee it produces.

If you want a simple, inexpensive one person/one good-sized serving of coffee, don't bother going to Walmart or Bed&Bath for their lowest priced model. This is the best one you will find for the price.

Some notes: I don't know why they say "3-cup" because that depends on the size of your cup. This makes 12oz of product. Some other reviews mentioned that the strainer is one solid piece. Mine comes apart and reassembles perfectly so don't worry about being able to clean it. The plastic case looks like this will be hard to break even though it is real glass (WAY better than the "unbreakable" ones). But the plastic is sharp and I have to clean carefully so I don't cut myself on the notches along the rim.

The only other bad point is that it seems to cool down fast, so I have to wrap it while brewing.

But the seal is strong and the filter works very well as long as you don't grind your beans too fine.

Love the bodum french presses, love the green, very durable and long lasting...assuming you don't have butterfingers like me and drop the glass carafe on the ground. I just wish they made a size between this tiny one and the big 8-cup size. I dropped the bigger one I had and broke the glass, so I decided to downsize since I'm the only coffee drinker in the house. May have to get another big one in addition to this small one. Sometimes I want a cup and a half or so of coffee, and this just makes one mug's worth.

We have tried several other brands and have decided finally - that you get what you pay for. This coffee press is excellent. We now have two large and two small presses which is perfect for large dinners and for the flexibility of providing both decaf and regular - only use Peets Coffee - it is also the best.

I've only used the Chambord style in the past, and like everyone else, I was nervous about the thin carafe, which felt ready to crack at the slightest bump. This press is sturdy enough for my clumsy hands, and works great, plus the thick carafe keeps coffee hot longer than in the Chambord, which has no insulation whatsoever. I like the nifty design and color choices too. Love my new press!
