The secret to wok cooking is high temperature. The problem with most homes is that most gas ranges go up to maybe 20,000 BTU, with some high end ranges going a little bit higher. Electric ranges putting out 1500 watts really aren't that great either. Higher price point home ranges such as Viking, Wolf, Kenmore Pro, and KitchenAid all offer ranges with higher BTU gas burners that could work very well if you want to spend that kind of money. The Wok Shop in San Francisco sells a Hurricane Portable Stove which can be hooked up to propane tanks or natural gas, and puts out 35,000 BTU.

Loved this wok, took good care of it, but after 5 years a bubble that came with the wok on the inside chipped off completely, leaving loose metal pieces.Published 4 months ago by maia lynch
Heavy wok, thick cast metal for very even heating for making lots of stir frys. Non-stick inside and enameled outside. High quality and love mine.Published 6 months ago by The Happy Customer

Nice and heavy, cooks well although its pluses are also some of its minuses. I am no longer able to hang it on the wall as I did my old Wok, its just to heavy. Read morePublished on July 6, 2014 by KWG
I have this wok for about a year. A few months ago I noticed that my enamel begins to crack. I've been taking good care of it. Read morePublished on July 2, 2014 by Meg L.
