It's easier for me to write reviews on what I didn't like instead of what I liked so bear with me. I liked this one better than Crashed Out, Tessa Bailey's release prior to Boiling Point, but I feel like she's relying too much on sex to convince her readers that the main characters have a connection. I want books with a plot, interspersed with hot, dirty sex, instead of hot, dirty sex interspersed with a plot. Austin's dirty talk borders on crude and rude instead of arousing. I found myself speed reading through the last 30 percent or so of the book because it began to drag for me. I am still a loyal Tessa Bailey fan, and I will read her stuff no matter what. She hooked me with her Line of Duty series and even though I gave this one only 3 stars, I can't wait for Henrik's story.

When Tessa Bailey has a new release, you know it's going to be awesome and hot and you will be blown away. Well, Boiling Point is no different.

You have to read the first books in this series to understand the dynamic not only between Austin and Polly, but all other characters involved and how they got together and in this situation.

Con man Austin was intrigued by Polly right from the very beginning they met. She's taking no stuff and seems to be immune against his charme and flirting. Austin never resists a challenge and so he's only more fascinated by Polly. He has more personalities than he can count and is already wondering who the real Austin is or if anyone is even interested to get to know him. His good looks and charm and slight arrogance have him on the hate list of everyone in his new team. He always seems cool, calm and collected, always in control. That's all to change when Polly enters his world and she ignites something in him that he never thought possible.

Polly is trusting no one and is not much of a people's person. We see her chatting with the other girls now and then, but she's always more annoyed than really interested in a conversation. It seems that she got caught by accident. But the more we learn on what she is after, the more you get the feeling she got caught on purpose. Revenge is a strong motivation and feeling. For the last six months it seems she gives nothing when it comes to Austin. But when she gets closer and closer to the person she is after with a 'stranger' interfering the more she can't put Austin out of her mind. A night in a bar with a Russian man changes everything.

Austin and Polly seem so opposite and yet they crave the same things.

4 Stars, 3.5 Flames
Most people have their favorite authors who they buy from without even reading the book description. Tessa Bailey is my go-to author, one I buy from without second thought, total fangirl with and totally adore! There hasn't been a book she has written that I hadn't totally devoured, especially in this series...
Until this book. It took me way longer to finish this story than all of her other books combined. Here's why, I could not connect with the characters as much as I had wanted to. I think because these two, Polly and Austin, were the most closed off and secretive. I love cocky, arrogant, alpha males as much as the next girl; but Austin being a con-man, using his brit charm against us women turned me off. Then beautiful hacker Polly with her vehement towards con-men, which is totally justified, falls for him after all.
So why the high rating? As Polly literally stripped Austin of his layers I will admit I began to see Austin for who he is, a lost boy looking for a place to belong, love, and be who he is. Even if he doesn't know who he is to begin with. Polly stepped up by taking the control Austin so desires away and making him see that his pleasure is her right and duty. plus the scenes they shared were oh-my-gawd-hawt that towards the end I couldn't stop flipping through the pages. Polly realizes that revenge is not all its cracked up to be, that finding trust in. the untrustworthy is so much sweeter!
This book can be read alone but having read them all and getting to know the characters enhances the story so much more. Even though Polly and Austin are not my favorites there story was beautiful as it was tragic, will hold a place in my heart. Gah, I wanna say more but if I do I'll spoil it and this book is a definite must read, especially for Bailey fans or newbies!
I was gifted a copy from the author. The opinions and ratings are my own and I was in no way compensated

Ahh Austin...the consummate con man, the epitome of the word chameleon. He's everyone and yet no one at the same time. He becomes whoever he needs to be to get the job done and plans everything, down to the last detail, even getting "caught" and being "forced" into the new division, or as I've affectionately dubbed them, The Last Chance League, under Captain Derek Tyler. He's always been prepared except for sitations...discovering one of previous his marks, Isobel, gave him a daughter, Gemma, who is now three years old, and meeting Polly. Then again, no one can be prepared for Polly.

Polly, hacker extraordinaire, has one goal and that's revenge against the man responsible for essentially destroying her Dad. She doesn't want the attraction between her and Austin, the feelings Austin is developing for her, the once in a lifetime love they could have...but she needs it and she needs the control that Austin is man enough, alpha enough, to let her have.

Yeah, only Tessa could write an alpha male personality that's willing to play submissive to his woman, without losing any of the dominant, dirty talking sides of his character. *Psst...yes, she's just that good.*
As Austin and Polly explore their relationship, revelations are made about Austin's past, a past that coincides with Polly's.

Can Polly see Austin and not his former partnership with the man responsible for her Dad's downfall? Can she overlook the things he used to be willing to do to achieve his goals? The women that are a part of that past? What about when she comes face to face with the mother of his child? Will Austin be able to make amends, in his own little way, to all the people he conned in his previous life? Will he and Polly get their HEA?
