Despite knowing the measurements of this knife before i ordered it, i was a little shocked at how small it actually is. The spine of the blade has some "jimping", and i mean the lightest, and smoothest jimping ever. As your thumb rests there, you have about two and a half fingers on the handle. Which is made of black G10 beautifully trimmed with blue. The blade is also mirror polished, which i love, and not so much as a satin finish most sites state. The only downside as others have expressed, is that the sheath does, in fact, suck. All in all, i think ill have this knife on display with my other display only blades. (it just dosent have that EDC feel for me)
**I also bought the Boker black and blue lanyard to accent this knife, shown in the picture i uploaded**

I really wanted to like this knife. I mean really, I did. It looks cool. The fit and finish on mine was good. It took a keen edge.

As for function.... well it passes the basic knife test, meaning it cuts stuff. Problem is the angle of the handle, with the angle of the blade makes if hard to cut stuff that's on a surface. Your knuckles will scrape if you try to use the full length of the blade. My index finger gets rubbed a little raw by the back of the blade (functions as a guard). The jimping on the back of the blade is very smooth and does not provide a super secure perch for you thumb. The handle is a love or hate thing. It gives you the opportunity to learn some new knife holds. Or it's just annoying.

The sheath looks good, but it's very hard to put the knife back in. The mouth is too soft and hangs up on the handle. Plus it's not what you would call quality.

Over all, I'd buy it again. Hoping I can find a niche for this little fellow.

What a great little blade! It is small! A wee bit smaller than I expected but exactly what I WANTED. I needed a good fixed blade knife that would fit on my belt without getting in the way of my legs as I bent and moved around. This is perfect!

That's a "normal" sized military style dog tag on the lanyard I added. Will give you a little reference for size.

This is a great little knife. It feels pretty good in hand, and I wear extra large gloves. Also, it comes extremely sharp. I mean SHARP! Therefor you'll want to be more careful than I was when you start getting the feel of this knife. I was turning this in my hand, just learning how it handled, when I curled my thumb toward my palm at the wrong time. That little point at the heel of the blade? It just unzipped the tip of my thumb. The fact that it didn't hurt a bit might tell you how sharp it is.

That said... The knife gets five stars, partially because it reminded me that knives can be dangerous, but the sheath could definitely be better. The knife just came yesterday so I've been pulling out, turning it in my hands (carefully now) and putting it back. No work but a little paper cutting, and I've noticed a marked decrease in sharpness. The only thing this 440C blade has been touching that could dull it is the sheath. I think the sheath will quit this eventually once it's broken in, and the blade has tenderized the leather inside. I'll try to remember to update this review if I find this to be true.

All things being equal, I give five stars because I bought the knife. The sheath was just an extra.

I bought this knife just a short while ago and it arrived yesterday. Since then, I've done some small paper and cardboard cutting to test the edge as well as opening the mail and such. The overall length is short, which I knew it would be, but it's even shorter than I expected. It ends up not being too uncomfortable for light cutting tasks, but it's still the shortest fixed-blade I've got and I've got ~40-50 knives at this point. I think the steel is a bit softer than I would ideally like, the edge retention isn't so great. It's an interesting short knife, but the steel and like others have said, the piss-poor sheath, make this a rather sorryful knife. It does look neat though, the scales are interesting and the knife shape too. If a little better steel was used, I'd be rather happy with this overall, even despite the sheath.

I just unpacked this knife, and had to arise a review immediately; this knife nice would be a bargain at twice the price! Fit and finish is astounding, blade is sharp and shiny, all smooth edges, like the whole thing was polished before wrapping. Its not big, make sure you note the specs, but it's a perfect and pretty "little" sheath knife. Fits tight in the sheath, which is also well made, and will fit a belt up to about 11/2", also a lanyard hole in the end of the handle. The sheath is stout and we'll made, the knife is simply beautiful, beautiful wood, beautiful finish.

As to utility: I use knives all the time for opening packages, cutting cord, rope, fishing line, etc. I try to keep one handy so I will use a knife instead of trying to rip things open/apart; so I can't endorse it for a particular use, just general use, where you need a sharp blade, and for that I recommend it highly.

This is my 3rd Boker, and all have impressed me.
