Another fantastic Burnt Friedman CD! Awesome tracks, awesome and lush production! I recommend it to anyone who likes his previous CD's or those who like Nine Horses, Shank, Root 70, Unitone HiFi...

Burnt Friedman continues his tour of Africa with BOKOBOKO, which delves right into the drums and kalimba of "Rimuse 2." The drums start to stutter some on "Uzu," but "Deku No Bo" wanders off into its own strange, krautrock world. Order returns (as well as a steel pan drum) on "Sendou," and the title track seems to drift atop the drums, with a few plucks of the sarod to introduce weightlessness. A bit of dub reverb creeps in at the end of "Rimuse 3," which segues into the woodwinds and funk bass of "Memai." A nice diversion to the dark continent.
