This coloring book was such fun to create! I was experimenting with coloring book ideas, and one of my designs was so simple, it surprised me. So, I printed a sample page to see if I liked coloring it.
I did, and so did my daughter... and my granddaughter. (In fact, the toddler was due for a nap, but coloring this seemed to calm and delight her.) With three generations enjoying this kind of design, I knew I was on the right track!
As my daughter and I chatted about these unique coloring pages, we realized this kind of book fills a need. It's ideal for anyone who needs a more relaxing book to color.
Sure, we talked about toddlers who delight in simple coloring pages. (Pre-schoolers might like looking at scenes from fairy tales, or coloring books featuring their favorite TV characters, but they can't always color inside those lines. They need something simpler and perhaps more imaginative.)
Then, I thought about the art therapy side of coloring books... people who'd like to relax with coloring books, but they're dealing with vision and dexterity challenges. Or, adults who need simpler coloring designs, but they don't want "kiddie" coloring books.
So, that's how this coloring book came about. If it's well-received, I'll create more of them. They're fun!
Also, all of my coloring books for adults are unique designs and start with my own, hand-drawn artwork. And, being a hippie at heart, I like to think my coloring pages convey the same healthy, calming energy that went into creating them.
