Nothing is better to me than a single dad story with a dad that is 100% into his kid. And let me just say that Luke Pierson is that dad and that man. <Cue the swooning>
Luke Pierson Quarterback for the Washington Wolves, is a single Dad to an adorable 6 yr old little lady named Faith. Being in the spotlight isn’t something Luke likes. He’s a simple man who keeps his personal and family life quiet.
Alexandra Sutton’s whole life changes once her father passes away. Not only did she inherit his money, she also inherited his football team. Surprised at this Allie steps up to the game by asking for help, reading over all the paperwork, getting to know the players. She’s determined.
When these two first meet, it doesn’t go over very smoothly. Like at all. And then when these two find out who each other is the story flips and things change. We watch as the tension builds with these two and then when the damn breaks it’s so sexy and so complicated. But once there is a leak everything changes. Hearts are broken and feelings swell to new heights.
Then there is a grand gesture that will make your heart swell so big that you feel as though it will pop. These two characters are meant for each other and once all the messiness of everything subsides, their love conquers all.
A book you won’t want to put down and a story that will leave you breathless.
“Maybe she’d be my downfall. Maybe this would blow up in our faces. Maybe there’d be a day that I regretted that I ever had this stupid idea.“
I couldn’t put this book down. Luke Pierson and Allie Sutton are my favorite character’s written by Karla! This sports romance is one I will never forget... I loved every moment of Luke and his daughter Faith and how much they were like a team together. Just the best dynamic and the plot is EVERYTHING! The photo shoot, the hotel room, the interview... my heart was ready to burst from my chest!
I absolutely love when a book gives you those butterflies and you feel EVERYTHING! This book did exactly that.. all the feels!
I highmy recommend this INCREDIBLE standalone sports rom-com
I love a good sports romance, especially a football romance. And The Bombshell Effect was everything I wanted to read when I picked it up. It was a sexy, fun, surprisingly heartfelt, on the edge of your seat romance that I could not put down. Luke and Allie, our main characters, have the best back-and-forth, the sassiest, funniest come backs, and the most decadent tension that burns between them. This was my first time reading Karla Sorenson, and I have to say I was so impressed. Her writing is spectacular, her character development superb, and this storyline definitely hit me in the feels. She’s an author I want to read more of, and I’m surprised I’ve waited this long to read one of her books. The Bombshell Effect was so freaking good, so swoony, so tender and sweet. There's honestly nothing you won't like. I guarantee it. It's most definitely a must read favorite sports romance of mine and I can't wait for you to dive in.
Luke and Allie are neighbors. Neighbors who don’t get off on the best foot. In fact when Luke and Allie meet they take an instant dislike to each other. Luke is an a-hole, lol, definitely judgmental, rude, and rough around the edges. He's been emotionally burned by his daughters mother (yep, he's a single dad, swooooon) and he’s not receptive to woman at all.
Allie just lost her father—a man she wasn't very close with. She back in her childhood home (right next door to Luke) and while there finds out that she's inherited her Dad's most beloved thing, his Football team, the Washington Wolves. Obviously Allie has no idea that Luke is the quarterback of the Wolves, hell, this football team totally caught her off guard, and she's barely wrapped her head around the fact that her father left the team to her. And of course, Luke has NO IDEA that Allie is the new owner, if he did, he might not have treated her so badly when they first met. So the moment these two find out that they're more than just neighbors, that their lives are more intertwined than what they thought, is THE BEST THING EVER.
This story TAKES OFF. There is so much back and forth, so much push and pull between Luke and Allie. What starts off as dislike escalates into something heated and sexy and totally delicious. I ADORED everything about these characters. Loved seeing Luke's shell soften as he let Allie in. Karla did an amazing job of writing laughs and sex, but also giving us a good dose of angst that made you feel IN THIS STORY! Honestly, I just loved it. Couldn't put it down. Didn't want it to end. And I can't wait to see what's next from Karla. I'm hoping we get books for some of the other characters we meet in The Bombshell Effect because it was just so so so great.
