We had been using regular Bona hardwood floor cleaner in the white bottle on our newly installed engineered hardwood floors with great results. When we ran out I decided to order the Pro Series version. Pro must be better, right? NOT! On the first try we used it exactly the same way as we had been using the regular Bona. The result was awful; streaky and dull. On the next two tries we paid particular attention to the instructions. The results were just as bad. We went back to the regular stuff in the white bottle, and everything was fine again, a nice streak-free satin gloss. If you want to try the Pro version, I'd recommend buying a small spray bottle of it and trying it before buying a gallon refill.

I clean houses professionally, and generally use either bona mop products (rotated with orange-peel soaked vinegar dilluted with water, to clear up any potential build-up common with using floor products on wood). Generally speaking, this has been the best product I've found so far to both clean the floors and minimize streaking. I dillute it 1:4 with water, as it's more concentrated, to conserve cost. As with anything, technique is key.
* Start off with a clean, WET (but not dripping- ring it out first) microfiber pad. The water helps the product disperse evenly.
* Vacuum (or at least sweep) the floor prior to starting. Don't use a beater bar attachment on the vacuum; they may scratch the floor.
* I use a plastic squeeze container (like a dishsoap or ketchup bottle) to pour the product on the floor. Use enough to keep the floor wet and the product distributed evenly, but not so much that there are small pools drying on the floor or the floor doesn't dry evenly within 5 or so minutes. Different floors need different amounts of water because of their finish and wood type, some need very little at all (esp. high gloss).
* Don't use a back-and-fourth motion when mopping, but rather a long "figure eight" motion (keeping the same side of the mophead in the front to trap loose debris), mopping IN THE DIRECTION of the grain of the wood of the floor. Mopping across the wood will cause dirt to get trapped in the ridges and you'll get streaks.
* Stop periodically to rinse out the mop pad. More often if your floor's super dirty.
* If you see beading or uneven drying, go back over it with a well-rung-out mop pad so the spots don't show after it dries.
* This hopefully goes without saying, but don't walk over the floor till its dry. Wearing clean, dry socks keeps the floor cleaner longer (use caution with slick floors), as oils from bare feet tend to leave prints.

I've used Bona floor cleaner on my hardwood floors for years. I love it. Perfect, squeaky clean floors with minimal effort thanks to their super-maneuverable cleaning mop. At first I bought the individual refill bottles, but finally got smart and started refilling them out of the large-quantity jugs. I didn't know it was available in concentrate until looked on Amazon for my usual 1-gallon size refill jug. The price of the concentrate is the same price I paid for my last 1-gal ready-mix jug, but will make 8x more product.

I would give it 5 stars, except for the current bottle design. It's fine if for sale at a regular store, but probably needs to be made of thicker plastic or reconfigured somehow to better withstand the stresses of shipment via UPS-type carriers. My bottle of concentrate arrived with dented corners and a cap/pour spout that had been completely depressed into the bottle body. I could still open it, but pouring requires Zen-like concentration to avoid wild dribbling. I'm surprised this particular bottle even arrived with fluid still in it. No amount of pillow-packs and crumpled paper stuffed into a cardboard box can cushion a 1-gallon bottle of liquid as it's being tossed into the UPS truck.

I was given Bona by the company that installed my hardwood floor 5 years ago and it's all I've used since. I wanted to use a steamer but he said that the floor companies (hardwood and laminate) won't cover the warranty if you use those. Very bad for the floors. The concentrate is great since I already have a bottle that I just refill. I won't use anything else on my floors.

This is my second order, because the first order worked perfectly. If you add the correct (as instructed) amount of water, you will have a bottle of Bona that works identically to the already diluted Bona. The savings are substantial, and this product gets a 'highly recommend' from me and my housecleaner.

Bona was recommended by the company that refinished our hardwood floors. In the past I used Murphy's Oil Soap. While I love the smell of Murphy's, it left a dull film on my floors. Murphy's is great for painted woodwork but not wood floors. I've been using Bona for over a year and so far no streaks or build-up on my floors. Great product!

Bona Wood floor cleaner is a great product....when I saw that Amazon carried the pro version that is not available to the general consumer....I had to give it a try. I am not 100% sure if it is doing a better job at cleaning the floors than the version the consumer version, but my maid swears that this pro version does make the floor look nicer and cleaner....so be it. Again, with Amazon.com, delivered to the front door cheaper than the consumer version that is available locally.
