I use this for the sole purpose of weighing coffee beans for making espresso shots. It is simple, fast and accurate. No extraneous bells and whistles. Does what I need it to do without any fuss.

It does what it says it does. Great little scale. The best part is that it doesn't turn-off after a certain time and its rechargeable. Highly recommend.

Its a great alternative to an Acaia and there's an awesome little rubber gasket in the battery lid on the bottom side to keep water and steam out. The Acaia Pearl is very tempermental with the touch buttons, it's very large, unnecessarily expensive, all plastic, and you cant use it on a table with a table cloth because even the sides of the scale are part of the weighing mechanism. Side note, dont ever use an Acaia without the rubber pad on top if you have hot liquids. The heat will warp the scale internally, ruining it. Jennings, on the other hand, is fantastic as well, but rounds to the nearest 0.5 gram, which I don't find to be accurate enough for coffee or baking. If you disagree, thats ok, buy the Jennings instead. The Bonavita also has a much thinner profile, is more portable, stowable, and has great build quality.
The cover this comes with is clutch. You can put things on top of it when not in use. The built in timer is perfect for pour overs, the scale surface is massive, and it's accurate down to a tenth of a gram. What more could you ask for?
I do believe it's a tad expensive right now. My only complaint is that the lag time from when you press tare and the scale display taring is at least a second. Every other scale I've used tares faster. Its seriously not a big deal and doesnt bother me anymore, but its something that can and should be fixed. If you see this scale for under $60, snag one. I think I bought mine for $50.
Had this scale for about a year and I couldn't love it more. Not sure why there are so few reviews and why they are both negative. I use mine for baking at home and at work as a barista in Denver. Yes the words on the buttons will probably wear off eventually, from what I've heard and read, but mine hasn't shown any wear yet.

I got this to replace a Hario scale that suffered a broken top, based on reviews suggesting a decline in quality in the former. Initially was very pleased - weighs solid beans consistently. However, upon grinding beans and adding them to a Chemex or pourover setup, the weight would just creep up constantly, sometimes showing an increase of 1.5-2 grams compared to the pre-ground weight. It's not life or death, but it's annoying as hell when your goal is precision weights. For the price, I expect more. Shopping for a replacement, but if reviews are an indication, quality is a thing of the past.

Great for measuring and making drip coffee if you are semi professional that cares about having weight based coffee to water weight ratio. The base is stable. The weighing is quick to reflect changes. My only gripe is that our first one came with a faulty display that got worse and worse over time until we couldn’t read anything anymore. Had to buy a second one bc it’s one of the few options in the market that is usb rechargeable and have tenth of a gram precision.
