This product worked well for me to repair the hole in my car. I put this behind the hole with plenty of Bondo to hold it in place. Then I finished the project with bondo by molding and forming it to what my car needed. This product works well as advertised, but you need to use it behind the metal on your car, as it will make a bump if you try to patch a hole on the outside. This stuff is great. Back in the old days when I worked in a body shop the big holes were covered with fiberglass cloth and then wetted with Tiger hair. When sanded the Tiger Hair caused extreme itching and you needed to wear a very expensive mask so you didn't get the fibers in your lungs.
With this the screening Tiger Hair is but a memory.
Sometimes we would use old screening from screen doors but that takes an artist to keep it from bunching and is really messy. This product reminds me of mesh tape for finishing sheetrock. Same principal, I put a thin coat of Bondo on the bare metal pressed this in, after I did a dry fitting to follow the contours of the body, waited a couple of minutes for it to hardened then put subsequent coatings of Bondo till I was satisfied with it. Really makes fixing older vehicles a breeze and it won't rust!

I tried to use this on a big hole in a restoration truck project. It didn't work. The backing didn't stick to the metal and the bondo just pulled it lose. The holes are too small to allow bondo to go thru and firmly attach to the metal. They need to make a product with much much larger holes in the webbing. I have a few more of these things and will try them on a hole that I can access from both sides. It will not work on blind holes. But, it should work, if you can hold it in place on both sides. Thus, keeping the Bondglass (or whatever filler you use) from falling thru a large hole. What does work is JB Weld's metal Epoxy Stick Putty. It will bridge even large blind holes without falling thru. Because, it's thick putty, and will adhere to both sides of the hole. Save this product to when you can hold it in place back and front to Bondo.

Zero adhesion. Breaks under and force. But once I figured out a way to work around that I made it work. Don’t expect it to stick on its own. I used bondo glass and had to put a small amount on and let dry then apply the rest so it wasn’t sliding around and falling off.

So I had to rebuild the wheel well on my 02 Silverado due to rust. The rust ate through both the seam of the inner wheel housing and the outer bed panel where they come together and are welded. This is a common problem. If enough of the seam can be salvaged and treated with rust converter, you can use these patches/mesh to rebuild the seam and repair the entire damaged area. I used the old structure as a scaffold to hold the patch/mesh after I used a straight edge like a right angle ruler to recreate the seam. It worked great. Then I used the vertical flange of the new mesh to stick to the inner vertical wall of the wheel well until I was able to use fiber glass to hold it in and start the reconstruction process between the fiber glass and filler: fiberglass for the primary filler and structure rebuild and filler for 1/4" or less resurfacing for painting. I created a how to do video on youtube. The job came out great and saved me from having to purchase GM only supplied bed panels priced at $1200 each and wheel wells at $400 each. The only complaint I have is that the patches are not sticky enough to hold on to anything. So it was a waste of time to add this feature. The sticky side should stick to most anything to add value.

Worked as needed. Used to repair rusted-out wheel wells on my 2008 Ford Escape. Bent and shaped easily but when applied to stick, it did not hold well and would slide off (sticking to Rust-oleum rust encapsulator dried). I fixed it by holding it in place with some painters tape and applied Bondo fiberglass fill to hold it. When dried, I removed the tape and fiberglass filled the rest. Requires a little finesse to fill completely and such but otherwise good. Bought 2 packs but only needed one as cutting a single sheet in half worked well. Also very easy to cut with household scissors.

I bought this product for patching a rust hole on a friend's car in the rear quarter panel. After sanding and prepping the area it was time for body patch. Since I've never used the body patch I was really happy to work with it. The patch cuts with ease to fit the size you're looking for, the adhesiveness is pretty nuts, and what this product helps you accomplish is amazing.

This was my second time ever doing any type of bodywork and I have to say, with the help of this product and the guidance of ChrisFix on YouTube I feel that nothing is impossible with a little bit of research and making sure you have the right products to get the job done.

There is adhesive glue on the back of the material, but it isn't ultra sticky. I bent the material into place which I was already anticipating based on the other reviews which also indicated that the glue was poor. It works with body filler, but I can't really tell you the difference between this and stainless steel chicken wire. I would say this is more flexible.
