As I was reading I felt as though I was there in the house with Edwin and Lillian and all that haunt there. As you read on, you feel their happiness and their fear. Thankfully they made some great friends, and sadly some not so nice people. You will wish you could go inside, but then again......maybe not. The addition of the links to EVPs and videos were a cool addition.
From Beginning to end I was enthralled. I shouldn't be surprised, Joni knows how to relate a story.
Great Job Joni, I can hardly wait for the next book.
books in the future, she has the knack of getting you intrigued and completely absorbed in her books !!
It begins with Edwin and Lillian moving into what they think is their dream home. The paranormal events begin with footsteps and knocking on the walls and disembodied voices. They encounter shadow figures, full bodied apparitions, friendly spirits, and hostile spirits. The hauntings escalate until they result in Lillian's possession by an unknown spirit, and Edwin being kept away from helping her. This lasts for three days until a friend of theirs comes to visit. The presence of an outsider apparently frees Lillian from the possession. After this they flee from the house in terror after having lived there for three years.
There are many works out there in the true haunting category. I would have to say that this is the gold standard by which other similar works should be judged. It has photographs of the house and video clips from some of the TV shows and audio clips of EVP's which are chilling.
If you are a fan of the genre, this one is a must read.
The personal accounts of Lilian and Edwin are brought to life by this wonderful author, as are the historical facts and locations of my home town, Gardner, Massachusetts. Reconfirming reports that I knew about, from having read previous books about the location and from visits from paranormal teams on TV, I also found out details about activity on this property that I never knew about. All in all, suspenseful and FASCINATING!
