Supplies

Empty 1oz Bonne Maman jars
Harp-style place card/table number holders
Tiny holiday decorations
Place cards
Strong adhesive or hot glue gun

Directions

Separate lids from mini jars and attach the card holders to the lid of the Bonne Maman jar using a strong adhesive or hot glue gun.
Insert small decorations into the jars. We used holly berries, but you could use mistletoe, very small ornaments, pine clippings – anything that would look cute encased in a jar.
Screw the lid with attached clip onto the jar, fill out a place card, and place it into the clip.

The coolest advent calendar I have ever seen and subsequently purchased. Such a fun way to enjoy the 25 days of December up to Christmas with the most incredibly delicious fruit spreads and bonus honey made by Bonne Maman. This is a brand of preserves and lemon curd I have in my pantry for years and years and years because of the delightfully yummy and tasty preserves. My favorite is cherry and then mixed fruit and then…. Well there’s not one that outdoes the other. Made with the freshest quality of ingredients and consistently good. The red and white checked lid sets it off into a class unto its own. Not only do I enjoy the contents, the jars and their distinctive lids become a storage spot for my buttons, straight pins and other craft items along with storing other items around the house. Such a grand bonus after enjoying these tasty spreads and honey. This advent calendar is a great gift for anyone who enjoys tasty food and a most distinctive present because of how it is made. The box opens up like a book with each day scattered around. Fun to find the Day 1 and then Day 2 and on and on that randomly placed within both sides of the opened “book”. Opening the tab for each Day, you discover a new flavor in the cutest little glass jar with the distinctive red and white checked lid. Each jar is fresh and delicious. As mentioned earlier, these smaller jars can be used like I use the larger ones for storing small objects so you can enjoy this gift for yourself or others for years to come. A grand introduction to this brand of fruit spreads for anyone. It’s fun too if you, like myself are hesitant to buy another flavor. I’m hooked on the cherry preserves and buy it over and over again. With this advent calendar I’ve found some new and fun flavors in a smaller version making it more fun to venture out in taste exploration. The advent calendar gives you a opportunity to try something new and then see if it becomes a favorite to later buy at the store in the larger jars. A great great gift for anyone!!!! Made with such pride and craftsmanship reflecting the quality of the fruit spreads inside each little jar. Highly, highly recommend!!!

I loved this advent calendar, though I admit, I didn't wait to open them up one by one. I ripped open all the doors and checked out the different flavors right away. The packaging is very nice and it would make an excellent holiday gift. They had a good range between familiar and unusual flavors. I wasn't impressed by the inclusion of one random jar of honey, but there were no other duds. Highly recommend to have with a nice sourdough loaf or use to jazz up a grilled brie sandwich. The jars are also nice to keep, though there are 24, so maybe don't go overboard there. I look forward to buying the 2023 version.

I really wanted an advent calendar this year because I've never had one for my self, and I really wanted something to get me in the spirit of the holidays. I searched all over trying to find something I would like which took way too much time but I just couldn't decide between chocolates, figurines, alcoholic chocolates, or art supplies. Then I found this set! I loved the idea of trying all these different flavors of spreads on toast every morning. Once it arrived (in October because I couldn't wait!) I was surprised at how large it actually is. It makes sense though, you need room for those mini jars! It makes it a nice kitchen table addition though, so I appreciate the size, and the art on the box. The first day was Rhubarb Strawberry jam and it was delicious. I spread it generously over two pieces of toast and I still have about one serving left. Today's jam is Orange Yuzu Grapefruit and it's delicious too! I used a bit less on my toast today since less is more with citrusy flavors (at least for me) so I have a couple more servings left of that one. Overall, this is a great giftable set for people who like jams and would be interested in trying a lot of different flavors in small quanitites.

I ended up getting the advent calendar instead of one of the other mixes offered because it only had one honey (the other mixes I looked at had multiple honey jars). I don't need honey. It also had a good variety of unusual flavors to try. I wish I could get this same mix year round. Slightly pricey, but worth it if you want variety. Would purchase again.
