BONNIE AND CLYDE A 1960's film told by writer Robert Benton, Producer Warren Beatty who also played Clyde Barrow in the film and Director Arthur Penn who is Actor Sean Penn's father, incase you didn't know Filmed in 1966 but set during the 1930's based on the Gangster couple Bonnie parker & Clyde barrow who were bank robbers during the 1930's a Great film version of Bonnie and Clyde i think, brilliantly written by Robert benton & Brilliant Directed also very well acted, Great performances by Faye Dunaway who played Bonnie parker Warren beatty who played Clyde barrow and Gene Hackman who played Clyde barrow's brother Buck, one of Gene Hackman's first films aswell Great performance the film was released in cinemas 1967 and caused alot of controversary with the amount of Violence in the film mainly the scenes where Bonnie, Clyde and Buck and trying to fight off the cops with lots and lots of Gun fire, very well Directed in my opinion the last scene in the film which actually happened to the real Bonnie & clyde is the Highlight of the film where they think they have got free from the Law and they Drive off but they were actually ambushed/taken by surprise by the Cops/FBI and brutally assassinated by machine Guns you see all the blood spurting out from the Squibs in the close up shots pretty Violent scene back in the 60's, looking at the scene now 50 somethin' years later it still has an impact i think the whole Violent scenes from the film still has an impact today but probably not as hard hitted as it was back in the 60's
in my opinion one of the best films made from the 60's Great writing, Great Directing and really Great performances the film still holds up today for sure.
the Blu-ray release is the version to get of this classic film, better than the 2 Disc DVD set a all new HD blu-ray transfer has been given and a new master audio track has been given aswell the picture quality looks amazingly clear not much Grain, better than the old dvd release that's fur sure warner bros have made an effort for this film
the special features, the blu-ray has the exact same special features carried over from the 2 Disc special edition dvd years and years ago the 60mins making of Documentary REVOLUTION is a fantastic Doco most of the cast and crew from the film have been interviewed Arthur Penn, Robert benton, Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, Gene Hackman, Michael J Pollard, Estelle parsons and some members from the crew aswell lots of behind the scenes photos during the making of the film the History channel Doco Love and Death- the story of Bonnie & clyde goes for about 45mins is on this blu-ray the Deleted scenes/Additional scenes from the film are included on the blu-ray aswell the original cut of the film ran for about 130mins, the Executive at warner bros thought the film was way to long so it was cut down to 111mins before it was released to Theatres i watched the Deleted scenes after watching the film i felt that some of the Deleted scenes made the plot/story line more Deatiled and could've been left in the film to make it run for about 120mins at least. and as usual the Theatrical trailer is here aswell
if you have the 2 Disc DVD set anyway well keep it then up to you. but this blu-ray version has much better picture quality than the dvd version plus all the special features are on 1 blu-ray Disc i gave this blu-ray 5 stars
Eine der Versionen die am nächsten an der Story dran sind. Gut nachgezeichnet und gut besetzt wird man in das alte Amerika geführt und kann eines der berühmt berüchtigtsten GangsterPaare erleben. Ohne Verherrlichung, ohne Gloryfizierung. Geschichte zum ansehen.
