The spring is very tight and doesn't slip or come loose like every single strainer that I have ever used (also because it is wound more tightly it actually strains the drinks better by preventing even the smallest chips of ice from being poured into the drink thus making for a much cleaner/professional presentation).
The shorter toungue makes it easier to fit into my bartender's kit and the rubber grip is located perfectly and is very usefull when working in a high paced bar. Also, it looks great since it is made of stainless steel.
I HIGHLY recommend this product!!!
1. The spring is very loose which lets a good deal of Ice shards through
2. They need to spend a little more time on the deburring wheel, the edges on mine at least are still rather sharp
3. It fits almost too tightly on a pint glass and even tighter on my mixing glass, making it difficult/slow to strain thicker drinks
Other than that it functions well, it fits on a standard shaker tin securely and sits on top nicely and does its job like it should.

Great little strainer for the price. While the spring's coil is a little loose/wide and the rubber grip has a tendency to fall out, it does the job well for $6. Read morePublished 7 months ago by mHiggins
Good build, works as expected. It's a bit small for my shaker but that's no fault of the strainer. The shaker is about as big as they come.Published 18 months ago by Chris M.
Would be five stars if it had a tighter spring. As it is, the space between the coils is wide enough to allow larger pieces of ice through than I'd prefer if I'm open-straining.Published 20 months ago by JavaBarista
THE BEST Hawthorne strainer. Works on pint glasses as well as the usual metal container. You don't need a Julep strainer for the glass. Just use this. Read morePublished on February 4, 2014 by Kevin Miguel
I mean what more can be said than this does a great job. Cheap and effective. What more could you ask for?Published on January 5, 2014 by IHOOYAHI
The strainer feels great. It survives the dishwasher with no problem. The spring has never come unattached. It's a professional's tool.Published on August 23, 2013 by Matthew
Works perfectly for what we needed. I'm sure there is something better out there, but given the price and what we were looking for, it's the right one.Published on June 29, 2013 by Rico
