This book was written to fill the need for more advanced knowledge among English-speaking bonsai practitioners than had been included in the author’s first book. He especially wanted to expand on the relationship between nature and the concept of bonsai. Chapters include Rootage, Trunks, Branches, Apex, Styling, Collecting Techniques, Indigenous Trees in Other Countries, Trees to Study, Styling Hints from Sumi-e Paintings, Changing Wardrobes Through Inarching, Shohin Bonsai, Containers, Displaying, Complimentary Plants, Suiseki – Viewing Stones, and California Juniper. Like the first volume, this one too is profusely illustrated with photos and diagrams. The two volumes together provide a veritable encyclopedia of bonsai techniques.

A lot are though. I have two sets myself; one signed, and one not signed. I read and reference out of the ones not signed. I have been creating and selling Bonsai for 8 years, and this book still blows my mind when I read it EVERY WINTER and reference it several times a month!! Great stuff!!!
To READ this book only but actually have it in front of you can be done at your local library. There are THREE copies of this book out there in the USA. At least ONE of them will allow its copy to be shipped out. Ask your library for an **INTERLIBRARY LOAN** request to be sent out. They will arrange for the book to be sent to them and provided to you. Free of charge.
Now that this is public information, please do not hold on to this book long as there will be demands constantly for it. We need to share it amongst us in an ethical manner. The quicker we all see it for ourselves the more North American bonsai will improve relative to our Japanese and European brothers. And if anyone is kind enough to arrange a copy for me, let me know as I would greatly appreciate it.
