I was searching the web for a solution and came across BooBooLoon. It looked like a great idea so I ordered one.
When the collar arrived I partially inflated it as instructed and put it on Taco. It didn't seem to bother him at all. (It was so much better than the CONE OF SHAME... that old torture thing we used to have.) It wasn't heavy, didn't obstruct his seeing or hearing... in fact I think he likes it! He can rest his cute little head on it for naps. (Once when he was wearing the old cone thing we came home to find him stuck in between the couch and coffee table...miserable, whimpering and unable to back out...it was just pitiful!)
I don't use it all the time but only when he starts licking ...he just can't get around it and gives up.
Thank you, BooBooloon, for a terrific product. I might try one for my cat who needs surgery...I hear they work for felines as well. I love the logo and the paw prints. It's a very neat product that really does the trick.
It took her about 30 seconds to get it off the first time I put it on her. She sat there so patiently while I put it on her - decided she didn't like it - proceeded to walk backwards until she found 2 pieces of furniture close enough together to catch it - she simply continued to walk backwards leaving this collar behind. Very funny to watch this procedure.
I am not sure why I decided to try it again a second time - same results in about 10 seconds.
Nice idea but just does not work. Don't you think it's rather expensive for a piece of plastic made in China? When I first opened the package there was that strong plastic smell - very unpleasant.
I can't recommend this product.
UPDATE:: I have now given the Boobooloon 2 stars instead of my original 1 star because the reason it does not work for us is not entirely the fault of the product. It partly due to my pet.
I went to the vet today and took the Boobooloon along for his opinion. He said it will not work for my dog. There are 2 reasons it won't work for us and many other pet owners.
1. The body structure of the pet. In my case-her neck is about the same size as her head therefore it will not stay on. He put it on her as snug as it would go and she took it off - it just won't work for us.
2. The personality of the dog. Some dogs will wear anything-some will wear nothing. Mine likes nothing & remember if your pet does not want to wear this - it WILL come off.
So always keep in mind the body structure & personality of your pet. If you are in doubt - ask your vet.Read more ›
BooBooLoon – A plastic, blowup balloon that goes around the dog’s neck and upper shoulder area. Because it is semitransparent plastic, it was less intimidating than the solid materials. Easy to inflate (note: instructions say to inflate to half inflation. This makes the balloon lie closer to the neck and is more difficult for the dog to remove). It seems comfortable and the dog slept in it. Unfortunately, our dog figured out how to remove it after a couple of wearings. The BooBooLoon attaches with three Velcro circles on opposite ends. This makes it easy for humans to put on and take off. But if your dog has long legs and can figure out how to insert a front paw underneath their neck, they can exert enough force to break the connections made by the Velcro. Once they learn to remove it, it becomes a simple task to repeat. The BooBooLoon might work well for dogs with shorter legs, or those that never learn the removal method. It was well-received from a comfort point of view.
Contech ProCollar Protective Collar – The winner for our dog. A solid blowup collar. You must use your dogs own collar on the inside to hold the procoller in place. As others have noted, many of today’s “pinch and release” buckle-type collars will not fit into the interior tabs to hold the collar on because the buckle is too large to pass through the tabs. We found that we could use ours, which had buckles that were about an inch large. This collar is easy to blow up and even contains a zippered section to protect the valve assembly. It is comfortable for the dog to rest her head.Read more ›

This product was a waste of my money. Difficult to inflate and after one use punctured. It needs to have a protective covering to prevent that.Published 6 months ago by Amazon Customer
