About the Author

Allison Bially is a writer and energy-efficiency professional who grew up in Massachusetts. She has also lived in places as varied as Kwajalein, Marshall Islands, Haifa Israel, New York and Oregon. For the better portion of 2011 she underwent intensive treatment for breast cancer. A graduate of the University of Rochester and New York University’s School of Education, she now lives in California with her husband, their two daughters, their golden retriever-shepherd mix, and a healthy sense of humor.
