The first thing I like about this rope is that it has three knots in it. This keeps my friends fingers out of the way as I tug on the rope. I also like how long it is because it makes me feel like I am pulling him across the room (although I know he just is not as strong as me). I let him win sometimes so he will stay interested in playing. I carry it throughout my home as it is one of my favorite toys. Sometimes I like to chew on the fringe, but my friend says not to because it gets all over the rug. He tells me that my teeth and breath are cleaner too. I give it 4 paws up
Our 70lb dog destroyed this little rope, it’s not easy to rewind and tie. It’s just a big mess now and I can imagine be a safety hazard
He’s trying to do the same thing with his big rope, but we’ve been watching him more closely and trying to teach him it’s for tug only. The rope feels like it’s getting weak, but we’ll see if it lasts!
It also claims to clean his teeth, which I hope it really will do. Even though I have no idea how to tell.
So far so good. But when he chews, he often gets to the tassels...and they are not holding up very well. The fibers are coming off and I don't want him to ingest them and possibly cause him trouble. I pulled a lot of the strands out already, but they are still coming off. So now I can only play with him and not let him chew on it at all. I would not let him have it without supervision anyway, but even when I watch him, I can't make sure he doesn't eat any fiber strands.
Please watch your dog closely, when he plays with it.
