About the Author
Joshua Free is the founder of Mardukite Ministries (2008), an organization that has continued to grow phenomenally since, and the prolific author of many works including Arcanum, Book of Elven-Faerie, The Sorcerer's Handbook of Merlyn Stone, Necronomicon Anunnaki Bible, Sumerian Religion, Babylonian Myth & Magic, Draconomicon, and many others. In the 1990's he was the youngest initiate of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids in England until he left to independently pursue the origins of the Celtic Druids - resulting in the "Book of Elven-Faerie", now available in a collected works anthology with "Draconomicon" and "Druidry" titled: "The Druid Compleat" (2013). Joshua Free co-founded the Systemology division (Systemological Society) of the Mardukite Research Organization in the Spring of 2011 and authored the first four 'NexGen booklet' installments comprising "Systemology 1.0" (better known as Systemology-101), including "Human, More Than Human", "Systemology: Defragmentation", "Trans-Human Generations" and "The Games" -- all of which appear in "Awakening: Systemology-101." This work has since been complimented by the Systemology 2.0 materials released in 2013 as "Reality Engineering." Although usually best known for his Mesopotamian work emphasis on Sumerians, the Anunnaki and Babylonian Tradition for the "Mardukites", his work on the Dragon Legacy and modern Pheryllt Druid and Elven-Faerie tradition is also paramount. Recently, his writings even appeared in the third and final volume of the bestselling trilogy by Douglas Monroe, "The Deepteachings of Merlyn".

The first part describes the history of elves and faeries, how they were created and eventually disappeared. To fully appreciate the value of these chapters, the reader must keep in mind that semantics vary with each paradigm, and that ideas can remain the same even though they can be described differently through a different lens, another point of view. I've only read a few versions of these origins, but never before have I come across something so detailed as this, nor have I ever read about our link to these beings.
The second part dives into the practice of the Elven-Faerie tradition, complete with rituals for both groups and solitary practitioners. Opening and closing a circle, rites of dedication and initiation, seasonal ceremonies, it's all here.
The third section ends the book with less formal practices including working on the astral and tree magick. These I enjoyed the most.
While this is a great tome to possess for those with an inclination toward nature-centered traditions, this book is not necessarily for beginners. A foundation on the basic principles of magick is required for putting this material into practice. For those just starting out, I recommend the author's Druidry and/or Wizardry.
The information inside is wonderful. Everything from history to actual practices including rituals and use of the rays of light. The book is written in a very beautiful way and it just feels good to sit down and read. Those who have read Joshua's works before will surely love this book and those who have not, this is a great book to pick up!
