The Bad: I bought a book to teach me how to more effectively use ads to boost sales. The book gives the reader a primer on how to use ads if the reader happens to be a motivational speaker or a consultant. Unfortunately, if you are running a store, or selling anything tangible, its largely a waste. It also has its share of typos, which may sound nitpicky, but a professional book should have been proof-read to eliminate these.
I bought the print version of the book and some of the pieces were a little lacking compared to the digital version (such as clickable links and color), but I didn't take this into consideration when giving 2 stars. I also didn't take into consideration the book's less-than-ideal construction (page folded over then bound into place, ink smudge). The writing itself is okay but does leave a bit to be desired. Valerie Shoopman and, to a lesser degree, Nick Unsworth both seem to really enjoy using exclamation points. At least once in the book, Shoopman used one 4 times in a span of 5 sentences. It's not a deal breaker, but not the best way to write either.
Finally, I do like that the authors encourage giving back to charities. Kudos to them for that.
Most of the book is actually very very weak motivational literature / fiction, and is essentially a long self-promotional ad by the author.
The second part of the book does contain somewhat useful tips about setting up ads on Facebook. The second part is clearly written, but is rather short and insufficient to get started successfully with FB ads on your own.
