About the Author
The Connecticut native poet & performing artist Iza Siul Hughes first appeared on stage at the age of five with an impromptu performance of the King of Pop’s mega-hit Bad. Contrary to being a social butterfly on stage, being separated from his immediate family at an early age led him to be a recluse - staying in his room writing & drawing instead of going outside. He would struggle to get along with other kids, getting in many fights and being suspended from school often. In efforts to redirect his anger, the young creative's father told his only child, “Whenever you feel yourself start to bug out, just write it down, and then repeat it to yourself.” Hughes would express himself in no other way than from a page, from that day forward.
