"Paul has launched three successful books now and is very active in the self-publishing space. This book is a no-brainer for anyone interested in self-publishing and having success in the process."
"Author Paul Brodie has written a book that beginning authors need. Not only those authors just starting out but even if you have 2 or 3 books published, "Book Publishing For Beginners" provides a nice brush up to getting your book out there and doing things the right way."
"Paul Brodie has nailed it! This is a tremendously helpful book for both new authors and those more experienced who could do with a refresh. I was struggling with a challenge myself for my newly released book, How To Find Your Passion and Purpose. Within minutes of downloading I went straight to Chapter 3 "Book Description is Your Sales Copy," and followed both Paul's easy to implement suggestions, and following the helpful link to further tips from Kevin Kruse. I now have a shiny new book description. No doubt there is room for improvement but it is vastly better than my feeble attempt before. Best of all within an hour of uploading the new one I saw both my sales and rankings soar. The before and after examples, additional tips and links to pro tools, including freelancers who can take the stress out of book publishing, and the fact that Book Publishing for Beginners is written by an experienced author in the know, makes this book a very valuable resource. Highly recommended!"
"I just finished reading this kindle book and it has inspired me greatly. It is so simple, concise and to-the-point. Anyone who is considering publishing a book should get this copy even if you have already written. It is clear and simple to understand. I don't like real technological reading unless I need that particular kind of information; like doing taxes. This is like OTJT (On the job training) and gives you the basics you need to get started or refresh and update what you already know. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is considering writing whether books, articles or whatever you have in mind."
"Even though I have written and published a book already, with the ever-changing landscape of self-publishing, one can always learn something new. This is a great resource of information for anyone still drowning at the deep end of the pool. It gives clear and concise steps and also some free informational guides to lead you through the uncertainty of self-publishing. Paul has put together a very helpful guide to get that first (or second) book out there. I also liked the fact that he gave his actual results to the promotions he used - the good and the not so good - with complete transparency. No hype here!"
"Straight forward, easily understood and to the point. I have published three other books, and I wish I had this resource prior to embarking on the writing and publishing journey. I am now using the formats and steps in Paul's book for my fourth undertaking - it is so much easier. Thank you"

Mr. Brodie breaks down the mystery of self-publishing ebooks with this short, concise book. Beginning with the obligatory cautions that your results may be different, the book moves on to advice on how to get your book ready for publication. Once that hurdle is past, the author shares the launch secrets he has researched and found to be successful. Mr. Brodie details which companies to use and when, what works best when it comes to raising the price of your book, and how to generate other revenue streams.
I felt this book stepped out past the basics presented by other books, such as his suggestions on how to handle your book launch and what advertising companies he found beneficial to work with. Mr. Brodie does offer additional services, although these are over and above the knowledge in the book and do not have to be used in order to apply the knowledge taught in “Book Publishing for Beginners.” To me, reading this book is like doing additional research before dipping your toe in the self-publishing waters. Four stars.
What I liked about this little piece is how informative it was in how to market and publish your book.
This is why I rated this three stars, however. Although informative and knowledgeable in the ecosystem of publishing, I felt the writer advertised way too much on all the other stuff he wrote as I felt that to be irrelevant to place in these kinds of books. Also, the other reason I rated this three stars was because he would drift away and start going more with his personal experiences than sticking to the thesis.
I felt that I had to skim too much to where I stopped reading this in the middle of the book. I felt if the writer wanted to market his work, he could have placed that on the back of the page instead of within the book. I also felt he could have cut way down on his own experiences because it appeared he was more concerned with marketing himself and writing a biography then actually educating others in the thesis at hand.
Unfortunately, I didn't know if I was reading a marketing plan or a how-to. Great writing voice, optimistic, and that's great. Also, I do feel the writer knows his stuff. I just feel if he would have done what I just previously mentioned, then the book would have stuck with it's thesis and not cause the reader disappointment to stop reading. Three stars because it was awesomely informative and insightful, but it was badly disorganized in format to me and his novel sized personal experiences could have been either spared or told more briefly. That way you don't veer off, miss the thesis, and be forced to quit reading. Also, another p!us is he does place contact information and website information. So, if those who read this can pick his brain.
