The Book Of Satoshi: The Collected Writings of Bitcoin Creator Satoshi Nakamoto Edición Kindle
The world’s first cryptocurrency, Bitcoin went online in 2009 and has since revolutionized our concepts of currency and money. Not supported by any government or central bank, completely electronic, Bitcoin is a virtual currency based on advanced cryptographic systems.
Like the currency he created, the identity of Bitcoin’s creator Satoshi Nakamoto is virtual, existing only online. The Nakamoto persona, which may represent an individual or a group, exists only in the online publications that introduced and explained Bitcoin during its earliest days. Here, collected and professionally published for the first time are the essential writings that detail Bitcoin’s creation. Included are
• Satoshi Nakamoto Emails and Posts on Computer Forums Presented in Chronological Order
• Bitcoin Fundamentals Presented in Layman’s Terms
• Bitcoin’s Potential and Profound Economic Implications
• The Seminal Paper Which Started It All
The Book of Satoshi provides a convenient way to parse through what Bitcoin’s creator wrote over the span of the two years that constituted his “public life" before he disappeared from the Internet . . . at least under the name Satoshi Nakamoto. Beginning on November 1st 2009 with the publication of the seminal paper describing Bitcoin, this public life ends at about the time PC World speculated as to a possible link between Bitcoin and WikiLeaks, the infamous website that publishes leaked classified materials. Was there a connection? You be the judge.
Nakamoto’s true identity may never be known. Therefore the writings reproduced here are probably all the world will ever hear from him concerning Bitcoin’s creation, workings, and theoretical basis. Want to learn more about Bitcoin? Go directly to the source—the writings of the creator himself, Satoshi Nakamoto!

━Friedemann Brenneis, The Coinspondent, 09/30/2014
"Here is a phenomenal book which contains the complete collected writings of everything Satoshi ever posted about bitcoin."
━John W. Ratcliff, Let's Talk Bitcoin, 06/22/2014
"After revisiting the (white) paper, I realized that the book as a whole allowed me to more thoroughly understand its intricacies. Overall, the book provides information that readers from any professional background can get something from... The Book of Satoshi's pseudo-encyclopedic structure allows the reader to jump across different topics depending on the info they're seeking."
━Kevin Cruz, Bitcoin Magazine, 11/19/2014
"Phil Champagne has put into an easy-to-read format the fomenting of one of the most important technological innovations of our time... a completely decentralized platform to perform payment transaction without the need for a trusted third party. Its importance is only surpassed by the Internet itself as an evolution in communications. Chapter 2 provides readers unfamiliar with Bitcoin a great overview of its technological and philosophical foundation and of how it operates."

I had a few minor quibbles with the intro but anyone reading this book wouldn't use it as an intro to bitcoin. It gives a fascintating and surprisingly readable background to the genesis of bitcoin, spread over 70 or so short chapters. For me the fact that things are discussed in a to and fro correspondence between Satoshi and others really helped to form a picture of the development of the system and gave enough time for things to sink in as I read.
Buying this book was a highly price-sensitive decision for me, knowing that this is mostly free content, but I think the author priced the paperback at exactly the right level (~15 bucks in Dec '14), hence it's well worth five stars. Quality of print and layout is very good for a self-published book (I assume that's what it is anyway).
What else would I have wanted? Larger glossary and more links to insightful papers about particular aspects raised in the book - there were some but I think the author might have gone a little further. Minor points though - great book that spans technology/culture/contemporary history.
Not only do you get a look at the mind of Satoshi, but you see him interact with people who are either unfamiliar with cryptographic technology or are new to the idea of electronic money as well as some of the early pioneers of bitcoin, including Hal Finney who received the first bitcoin transaction from Satoshi himself.
This is a very valuable book for anyone interested in cryptocurrencies.
Then, just a few days ago, I decided to go for it - - - and lo behold! I had it completed in a few days time.
So, why did I buy this book in the very first place? Well! I wanted to be a tad bit ahead of a few other folks who were trying to figure out as to what a bitcoin does and how does cryptography help in one was or the other. But, this was about seven (7) years ago when I was really interested in it. I even took a few classes and bought some [nice hard-bound] books to add to my collection. After going thru all this, when I conversed with my colleagues at work, it seems that that idea did not go well with management and they refused to budge in any way possible thereby saying that it is/was not meant for our shop.
I know that I can write much more about this book here, but then how will I let you enjoy it - if I write.
Going forwards, I am going to continue my studies in this subject a bit more and see where life takes me.
I also recommend reading more generally about cryptocurrencies before reading this title. Knowing something about other currencies like DogeCoin, Feathercoin, and Lightcoin is helpful. So is knowing more about not-so-wonderful things like the bankruptcy of Mt. Gox and the disappearance of some $4M worth of Bitcoin (estimated - exact amount still a mystery).
This is to my mind a very interesting and valuable inside peek into what happens in the early phases of any revolutionary idea that needs to be embodied in/as technology. Satoshi as a mix of evangelist with some dangerous naivete about human nature, with some formidable coding skills to boot. The open source project and the questions, doubts, and ideas that the lead developers brought up while building the early code releases. The unending demand for new features, more use cases, and more customizability as the dark forces of code size and code complexity arise... all the most relevant emails selected and arranged in chronological order. Fascinating.

But for whatever it’s worth, a few things you DO learn by going through the actual threads themselves is that (a) software programmers are terrible economists (the discussions around fiat currencies and monetary policy proves that repeatedly) and that is one of the reasons crypto currencies are failing as ‘currencies’ and therefore trying to morph into ‘assets’, (b) Satoshi never intended for bitcoin to become what it has today i.e. a quasi/pseudo currency whose value stems more from its speculative trading potential and the ability to evade law enforcement, rather than from any legitimate or intrinsic benefits it offers (he originally set out to solve mainly the ‘trusted party’ problem and the low transaction size constraint), and (c) Satoshi’s real gift to the world is ‘blockchain’, not bitcoin or cryptos. It is the blockchain technology that is revolutionising the world and will continue to do so (whereas bitcoin/crypto currencies have a dubious/different future).
