Mark, the owner of Heartsville's only bookstore, Bookmarked is in strife because of lowering sales, so he asks a well-known author to make his first ever signing appearance to help boost business.
Shep Knight, the author in question is someone I can totally relate to, his anxieties and fears something I have experienced when meeting new people. It was wonderful how Mark helped see him through, and I really enjoyed watching their romance blossom.
Great read :)
I liked Piper Vaughn's Christmas Elf story, and this one is a terrific tale also.
Highly recommended. ENJOY !!!
This one has the right premise and right potential for a lot of angst, and there is plenty of that early on when struggling bookstore owner Mark Werner latches onto an idea of a book signing featuring the wildly popular--but shamelessly reclusive--Shepherd Knight. I found both these characters rife with potential, and their situations filled with roadblocks that some extra pages might have fleshed out better.
That's the bottom line here. I liked the characters, found the plot to be reasonable, but the way the relationship between Mark and Shepherd developed to need more depth. Otherwise, it's a very pleasant aperitif or dessert when confronted with more weighty books, and I actually just bought the second in the series.
Piper Vaughn has given the reader a good start for this series of Heartsville novellas about the different businesses on Main Street. It is sweet discovery of the town, characters and loves to come in Heartsville. Give it a try, I think you will enjoy and come back for more of the stories. I am ready to visit again.
Thanks Piper Vaughn & Good Writing
