Genius (There. We said it.) Squirt isn't just a spoon; it's a revelation. It takes baby food, removes the jar and the mess, packs it into a single utensil and with one squeeze- boom. You get easy, one handed feeding. Pop on the cap to seal food on-the-go. Caution: May cause gobbling and an uncontrollable appreciation for anything delicious.

I loved this spoon but wish it held more food. I was thinking of buying another as a gift but found them virtually unavailable, unless willing to pay outlandish price. I emailed Boon to ask about its availability. Their reply included this:
"We are making changes to Squirt to improve its overall function. During the transition to the improved spoon inventories are low unfortunately. Please look for the new Squirt spoon to be available in Mid 2013."

My baby started solids at 4 months and it has been a messy struggle. I got baby bjorn scoop bib and its been easier clean up. If i knew boon had a scoop bib, I wouldve gotten from boon. I love all of their products. I have the flair high chair, drying rack. This item I was skeptical about for this sole reason--- I read one of the reviewers brought up a good point by how can you teach child to how to eat, when they dont see mom dipping the sppon into the bowl and bringing to the mouth. My baby at 6 months is not really interested how I bring the food to her.She barely looks at me. I have the bowl on high chair so I would have to hold it and struggle weather to keep her hands off of it or when I hold it in my other hand, I have to put it down and clean her face and chin. sooooo this is my first day and its been a breezy feeding time for me. No excess food on the bottom of the spoon. My hands were free to wipe her face and squeek a toy to distract her. squeezes really easly and the best part is you dont contaminate the remaining food with saliva. saves money, time. I also got boon bendable spoon and I would use them when she is able to understand the concept of feeding time. Also my baby used to cry because I wasnt feeding her fast enough, since she is used to bottle. Now it is alot faster because I just squuze the food out . Off course she differanciates between bottle feeding and solids. Another pro is when your out, this tool will be amazing since you dont have to look for bowl. I dont feed out of the jar because leftover food will be contiminated with saliva. So bowl is a must!!! so either you bring your bowl with you orrr you trust someones bowl or resturants. I personally dont trust dishes that are being washed by someone else especially for a baby. I am so glad I have decided to get this item:)) Great price at Amazon once again:)))

We started introducing solid foods since my baby was 6 months old but it's been a battle every day. My baby is now almost eight months and he`s got two teeth. I've tried baby spoons with excellent reviews including Beaba first stage and OXO Tot. They're ok but not helping the fact that my baby always fights for the spoon (as any baby would want to self-feed at one point), makes a mess and spills food everywhere, and then tries to put the spoon down his throat and gag himself. I bought this Boon Squirt baby food dispensing spoon originally because of what it intents to do: dispensing food. I thought it'd be a good tool for easy feeding when we're on the go so he doesn't make a mess. But then I discover what this amazing design actually does.

(1) the thick body of the spoon is very easy for the baby to hold with his tiny hands and aim the spoon part into his mouth.
(2) once the spoon is in his mouth...NO GAGGING because of the shape of the spoon.
(3) The deeper shape of the spoon "bowl" makes the food stay in the bowl instead of under the bowl like most shallow bowl shape of baby spoons so it's not as messy.
(4) Once the baby gets a hold of the spoon, he sometimes plays with it and chews on the the squeezy part like a teether, and he's having fun. I think the process of turning the spoon around actually is a good motor skill practice.

Now at home even when I don't put puree food inside the spoon, I still use it for regular feeding. I do put puree food inside sometimes, and the food output is very minimum at once so there's really no mess. That's another plus. It is true like the other reviewer's said that it won't come out if there's chunks in the food because of how small the hole is.

pros: i can use my free hand to do other stuff (e.g. wipe my baby's mouth or hold his hands so he's not sucking on them), easy to clean - just twist the bottom off and any standard bottle brush should fit inside, no bowl needed, no mess, wonderful for store bought baby food (e.g. gerber)

cons: can't use anything lumpy (e.g. oatmeal or rice cereal), a little pricey, i like the overall spoon shape better on Dr. Brown's Long Spatula Spoon because it's easier to wipe my baby's mouth with

When I saw 5 and 4 stars for this product I thought now life is going to be easier a little bit. I was so happy to order this but now not so happy about it. It is good if food is completely pureed but not good for home made food or those who has a little bit chunk in it. If there is even one chunk in the food it will explode all over the baby's face, some times baby starts crying. Now you need more time to sooth the baby, clean the face especially eyes. I don't like when food gets in the baby's eyes. There are always two or three spoons food left in the bottle, it doesn't seem to come out completely no matter how much you squeeze the bottle. Nothing gets better than spoon and jar. Good idea in theory but not so good in practical.
