Edition: Vault Hunter
Let's get this straight. I LOVE Borderlands. I didn't even hesitate spending the 5 bucks for this UVHUP2. That said, there's really not much to it. It unlocks the ability to level your characters up to level 72, "overpower" enemies (make them higher levels than you), adds a few new legendary weapons, and that's about it. What else do you expect for 5 bucks, right? I guess I expected at least one new set of missions. The description says it includes the challenging "Raid on Digistruct Peak" map. But it's nothing more than Tannis instructing you around a little circular town and kill a dozen skags, a dozen marauders, dozen nomads, few midgets, and a couple cheezy reincarnations of bosses you've already fought at the end. If that sounds like a lot, then you haven't played very much Borderlands. I played by myself and didn't even go down once. You can easily have this entire mission done in 15 minutes no problem. And that's it. One mission. Not one set of missions, but one mission.

Unlocking the ability to level up to 72 was worth the 5 bucks alone. But I still couldn't help thinking "that's it?!" after completing the mission. I took off a star for that. Sorry guys, but it shouldn't have even been referenced in the description, it's so insignificant. I realize Borderlands isn't all about doing missions, but it is a large part of the game. UVHUP1 included a whole new difficulty level and forced us all to play the whole game again. UVHUP2 fell short of this...

But still worth every bit of 5 bucks for such an awesome game overall! :-)

It is what it is. A level cap increase with a little bit of add-on content added in there so you can replay the game a third time with the same character. Just beware - this is for hardcore gamers. If you don't like getting beat down over and over again because of the disparity between the readily available gear and the mob's increased toughness levels (I'm calling you out Rabid Stalkers!) then you might want to think twice. In my opinion, it can take away from what made the game so enjoyable.

The upgrade pack is a great value to get more from BL2. It extends the playability of the game and adds additional challenges. If you don't get the add ons, you are only short changing yourself. Save some money and get the expansion pack.

Not really. Just never was able to download and install. Steam was no help. Can't return it. Don't know what to do. This sure colors my desire to buy more Steam stuff. You buy it. You get it. You can't use it. What?

Borderlands DLC is similar to cash-grab, mobile techniques. Do you need this? Unless you have friends that you play with and run through the game without every getting bored, then grab it (during a sale)

Otherwise, don't feed the machine. Make the publishers earn your money by producing REAL content.

If you like playing the ultra-hardcore game mode in games that's designed to punish you until you quit, you'll want to pick this up.

Its worth noting that the normal game modes Cap around level 40-50 for monsters/gear, so the level boosts are of very limited/no value if you don't plan on playing on insane mode.

The best part of this pack is that you can MAX out two of your characters skill trees and it is great. My Axton has double Slag turrets with rocket pods they destroy everything. The Digistruct peak map is ok and you gotta play it if you wanna unlock Overpowered Levels for your gear. Basically OP level gear goes up 8 levels and your character once passing Digistruct Peak can go up OP level 1 then when competing it again go to OP level 2. Now the enemies scale too so they will be harder on OP 3 than OP 1. I say get this if you wanna but open two skill trees for your characters.

The add on was a great addition as it allows for a new experience and higher lvl challenges. Great price for the content.
