I love the continuing characters which makes me want to reread the other books. Connor and Becca were a cute couple who didn't let the failed relationship from over fifteen years stop them from renewing their acquaintance. The action and intrigue were spot on. There were a questions left unanswered. Why would Kassidy get involved in the theft of her lab's secrets? Did she not know that Becca would be affected? Did she not realize the danger she would put her in or didn't she care? More backstory on Becca and Kassidy would have helped.
Can't wait to read more about Elite Force Security.
Born to Protect tells the story of Connor Anderson and Becca Andre, friends that could've been more way back in their high school years. Scandal struck Connor and his family during the summer of his graduating year and he has never been back to his home town again. He runs into Becca again some years later and they get to know one another ... Just as drama is erupting into Becca's world. Enter Elite Force Security, where Connor and his team mates work hard to protect the civilians entrusted into their care. And this time it's Becca that needs protection.
I just loved this story! I loved the links between Born to Protect and the Sherbrookes, we first met Connor briefly in Allison Sherbrooke's story, and she and her family are mentioned a few times. As with Ms Tetreault's other series, her writing is real, the characters are well-developed and readers are hooked in by the first page. I really look forward to reading this series as it progresses, who will have their story told next? I can't wait!
Born to Protect is a must read for all lovers of contemporary romance, and is recommended highly by this book-loving reader!
There were so many unanswered questions related to the political thriller part of the story that the resolution the author chose was anticlimactic and still left questions. The romance felt tepid. Not anxious to read other books by this author.
"the one who got away". He was her high school romance that ended when he left their wealthy community and never returned. Now she works in D.C. for a senator and he is with a Special Ops Team, which is available to high paying clientele or secret military missions. Their romance reignites one evening but is interrupted by her step-sister roommate. Soon they realize she is continuing to interrupt them, causing problems that bring the FBI, DOD and other agencies into their lives. You will enjoy this fast reading book.
