For years, I had been using RainX wiper blades on all of my cars. However, on my most recent vehicle (2004 Volvo S60 T5), I bought a set and after some heavy rain for a few weeks, the blades were already toast. I couldn't find the receipt (oops) so I couldn't easily return them. I did some research to see what other options were out there, and came across the Bosch Icons.
Worth noting: The 2001-2004 Volvos are listed as incompatible. This is simply not true. You just need to get the 421 (passenger) and 424 (driver) series blades. The only difference between A and B is the wind spoiler on the blades themselves, so I get the 421A and 424A blades for my car.
Immediately, you'll notice these blades work GREAT. There's zero chatter, no streaking and only a clean windshield ahead. By far, they are the best blades I have ever used. And since they have no frame, they work in the winter and the summer, regardless of climate/snow/rain/etc.
However, they will start to smear after awhile (once they start to "go"). At first, they'll be "smudgey" when it's a light rain, but when they get more water on them, they clean the glass fine, even with light rain. So they do get finicky about getting dirty. I suggest wiping them down whenever you notice this happening. Then, slowly, they'll start to smear even in the rain. On my previous set, they only smeared on the down (yuck), but not on the up. Eventually, they'll start to chatter, and you know it's time to swap.
I honestly didn't notice how long it took for them to go, but I was using my previous set of blades for 3.5 years, but they had been going for awhile. I just put it off. I'm pretty sure they were solid for a least a year or longer, possibly 2 years. I'll be paying more attention this go around.
Either way, if you want really good performance at the cost of replacing them occasionally, these blades are the ticket. I highly suggest them.
I had the cheaper bosch wipers from walmart that didn't look too good on my 01 Passat but they worked well for 6 months. Of course up here in the Pacific Northwest I need to replace wipers every season. These wipers look good. However, performance is another issue. In only 2 weeks of moderate use they've started to leave lots of streaks even after cleaning the blade. Water is left behind and it chatters against the glass badly. I can't recommend anybody to buy these wipers.

I own a 2006 Mazda 3 hatchback, and this blade has made a wonderful replacement for my drivers' side wiper. Initially I had procrastinated until wintertime, half expecting to find a decent winter blade, which I may have kept throughout the year. Well the first snow came, and I decided to pull the trigger. After unsuccessfully looking for the blade sizes everywhere (21" driver side 19" passenger side) including the owners manual, I simply measured them and looked for quality Bosch blades (the originals were Bosch blades, and they made it two years without any issues, just intermittent cleaning). While I had seen some Bosch winter blades, these caught my eye as a solid all season blade. While they specifically aren't winter blades, their compact size and lack of any kind of structure that could be prone to snow and ice make them ideal for snow belt residents.
Pros Bosch quality--if you've never used Bosch blades, get some ease of installation clean streak free performance no excess noise
Cons both blades have lackluster performance on the outer most 1/2" at certain parts of my windshield due to curvature issues, which I could care less about, as its only at the far right of the passenger blade and the very top of the driver side blade.
Despite the fact that the Amazon part finder kept telling me that my 1998 Jaguar takes 19" blades (it doesn't) and that this part wouldn't fit (because it's 21"), the part fit perfectly. So perfectly, in fact, that I thought I was looking at the genuine Jaguar replacement part. For those of you unfamiliar, the Jag uses a single large blade. But, not just any blade will fit. The commonly available and inexpensive blades don't curve to the outside edges of the windshield, and thus do not fit. Until now, only the original Jag blades were available, at a ridiculously high price. I'm sold on this, and bought a spare!
I needed new wiper blades for my VW and did a bunch of research. Just about every person or place I looked for an answer at recommended these blades or the PIAA super silicones. I went with the bosch just because I have a german car and use bosch parts already. I am glad I did, these are by far the best wiper blades I have ever seen. They do a fantastic job and leave no streaks. The best part is that they make zero noise, even on dry glass. I always had issues where there was not enough rain to keep the glass wet at the slowest interval setting and once it was too dry the blades squeaked. I had to turn the wipers on and off as needed (what a pain). These are so quit you don't even notice them working. Amazon had these blades at the lowest price, so if you can wait to get them in the mail, buy them here and not at the store, you will save a good chunk of change. These blades are more money than the cheapo blades but it is worth double the price I paid easy.
As a side note, I have seen rain-x advertising similar blades for less money. Apparently they decided to steal bosch's new design, so perhaps you may want to look into the rain-x ones a s a cheaper alternative.
What can I say? New wiper blades are great. It's NEXT winter that will tell me how well they've held up. I can say that these are the easiest wipers I've ever installed. They look really good with their clean, uncluttered style. They hold against the windshield well at highway speeds. No complaints. I try to get as many miles out of a pair of wipers as possible, and I've found you get what you pay for. I've never had a complaint about Bosch wipers, and this is their newest "best" so I'm expecting another Bosch success.
