Top Customer Reviews
There are two reasons I am giving this a 4-star instead of 5-star review. The first is because of the heat shield requirement underneath the cooktop. The angled heat shield has forced us to remove the drawer we had under our old cooktop, costing us valuable drawer space in our small kitchen. However, it has pushed me to attempt to build a pull-out cutting board, so there's that. Secondly, it seems that the sensors on the settings panel will sense anything put on top of them, which is annoying unless you use the Panel Lock function all the time. This means I can't rush and put down a spoon or a plate right in front of me when cooking because the thing will start sounding like a bus in reverse, reminding me of that time a bus backed over me in a parking lot.
Been using for over a week and I really like induction and the Bosch seems to be really well-made. I understand the comment about the slow control response but I think its better just to keep your finger on the control rather than tap it repeatedly to get the setting up or down. Also, the surface can get a little grimy so the response won't be as good until you wipe it clean.
WARRANTY. Yes it's true, not even the 1 year manufacturer warranty. So then I called Amazon twice, and amazingly they said mail it back to us for a full refund. Now that is great customer Service!
As far as this cooktop goes, heated well, but the touch button control center area was very compact and difficult to use. Especially if you require glasses to read. Reliability seems to be lacking, so after my experience, I would look elsewhere. We replaced it with, Frigidaire FGIC3067MB.
About 40% cheaper, better reviews, and the burner control area is easy to read. No glasses required!
I've used my induction for crockpot cooking multiple times and have no issues with it. It has not suddenly turned off on me after long hours of continuous heating. However, I also own a crockpot and still use it because that's its purpose.
Induction heats food faster than conventional electric coil burners while not exposing any open heating source.
My daughter and I employ a large variety of cooking techniques and found the cooktop delivers exactly.
Embrace induction it's much faster and safer.
