Contacted customer service and was told that I'm SOL since they replaced it once already under warranty and I'm now outside of my 1 year warranty.
Do yourself a favor and buy a unit from a reputable company who will stand behind their products <cough, Samsung>. Now I have a very expensive plugs trip that charges a $90 Lithium battery for my one Bosch tool.
I have Bosch tools so I picked up the Bosch radio instead of a DeWalt... Maybe it's the 360 degree speakers but even cranked up to 20 the DeWalt overpowered it for $30 dollars less... Thank god we were listening to the same radio station..
However the box design will earn it 4 stars... I've had a few 2x4s fall on it and they were stopped by the roll cage instead of smashing the top of the radio. Also it's like an extension cord with 4 sockets.
Even sitting in the car I'll plug my cellphone in and charge my phone up since I didn't buy a car charger, but I have a usb port on my radio.
Update: 2 years of having this radio, I take it to the beach and drop it right in the sand. This year will be the radios 3rd scallop season, if you've never been scalloping in the gulf of mexico... It's 3-6 people in and out of the water hand picking scallops off the bottom in 6-12 feet of water. Needless to say wet, salty fingers touch this radio a lot. I wipe the screen off and this radio has fade damage from the sun, so the bright red is now a dull pink/orange. When we take the skiff out to go gigging late night this radio is on board. I use this more for a boat and beach radio than job site because I don't work construction. TIP: On the water make sure you have your bay doors closed, I thought it would be cool to charge my phone while playing music so I left the USB door open while the boat was moving, bad idea the spring on the latch no longer has it's spring ability, have no fear a screwdriver or car key or perhaps a really long fingernail will ensure it latches when you close the door. This is a wonder radio for DIY projects because you can set it a few feet from the job to keep it out of harms way yet still hear it over a tool running. DeWalt radios have a stronger front of the radio volume but on the boat this lets you fish off multiple sides and not lose any clarity. I'm glad I have this radio, just don't forget it when you're buddy is doing home renovations, because it will be boring working in dead silence!
I plugged in my smart phone and the sound quality is good from all directions. The controls are easy to work with and again very high quality.
The only negatives are no Bluetooth, but I knew that before I ordered it. There are many input options. I will likely add an auxiliary Bluetooth receiver which will easily plug into the input inside the latch able compartment.
