Several things. Don't scrounge for the proper size hex bit for tightening all the hex head screws. The hex bit that comes with the saw is the correct size. D'oh on me.
Like others have said, insert a washer between the support mounting brackets and the saw body (only for the ends closest to the saw blade), and then tighten. This compensates for the sag perfectly.
I have the Incra 1000HD miter fence for this saw. The left side of this table saw is short, and the miter fence is long (and can be extended longer), and I was very happy finding this added adjustable support - can support the end of the miter fence! Yahoo! This makes my miter fence stable and it works much better.

Installation of these items is a trifle aggravating. Getting the screws started in the sleeves that install under the perimeter of the table is a little difficult; you'll likely drop the screws a few times and utter some favorites. After you get them in, you'll have to move the extenders in and out a few times to find the sweet spot where the rods don't bind in the sleeves. So, leave the screws slightly loose that hold the sleeves in place under the table. Jockey the sleeves just slightly until the movement is free at all points, then tighten them. But given the amount of stuff on this saw, and its versatility, the design of the extenders is pretty good. The left side extenders can be adjusted really well, as there are slotted holes in the bracket that receive the extender rods. Just loosen the Allen cap screws and you can move the bracket up or down a bit to achieve a level that matches (and is no higher) than the table surface. The rear extenders don't have those slotted holes (I wonder why?), so you might need shims or washers to satisfy your need for perfection. Or, you could add the slotted holes yourself by filing the bracket.
Overall, I'm impressed. I use these features every day, and they're great. Nice job, Bosch!
I've been following the discussions on these two beasts (this and the rear support) for a couple of years. I finally go into the position to purchase them and they arrived recently.
I have a 4000 series saw, BTW. Installation went without a hitch. Mine has a long rod for the rear of the saw, and a short one for the front. This is obviously in response to the "rod hitting the table extension lever" problem. It was just the right length to retract without hitting that lever. It does not interfere with the placement of accessories, nor does it interfere with the operation of the rear outfeed support.
When both this, and the table are extended, I get 53 1/8" of width support. I've seen some complaints that that isn't enough, but for me it is fine. I am forced to work alone and any help I get is just fine. These are much needed and welcome additions to an already great saw.
The build quality is great, with very heavy rods and heavy plate Aluminum. My one beef, is that there is no retention clip on the front rod to arrest the motion of the support when pushing it in. The rear rod has one, as well as both rods on the rear support. It causes the support to push in crooked sometimes. I light coat of Teflon spray helped the smoothness of the travel quite a bit. I recommend all owners use that or white Lithium.
Well done Bosch!
Added a .050" washer (one for each mounting bracket) - Between the bracket hole (nearer the saw blade) and the table saw mounting hole.
This effectively raised (levered) the Side Support, itself.
The mounting brackets' holes and Side Support mounting holes - Are elongated.
Using a straight edge - This allowed for easy adjustments to level the Support with the Table Saw surface.
A stop knob - When tightened - Holds the Support in place - When in use (open) - Or for transit (closed).
Provides sufficient support - For materials on the left of the saw blade - When crosscutting and ripping.
Solid support - But not "heavy duty". Added safety. Definitely worth the money.
UPDATE: I also purchased the INCRA MiterExpress. This extension works great in supporting the sled and INCRA 1000HD Miter Gauge. I partially extend the TS1003 extension to just where it sits directly under the UHMW tape on the bottom of the INCRA MiterExpress sled. Smooooth operation!
