Easy to set up
The Unify intelligent integration system walks you through system setup, step by step. As you're connecting components to the control console, the system recommends the best connectors via on-screen messages. It even confirms that the connection was made properly.
Easy to use
Unify technology also simplifies programming your Bose remote to control your Lifestyle system and most anything attached to it. During set up, the Unify system identifies each connected component, and automatically teaches the Bose remote to control it. Plus, you'll view system information, including FM/AM status, on the Bose remote's LCD screen.
And once you're set up...
You'll experience riveting surround sound for everything you watch. These systems feature compact cube speakers that blend elegantly into your room. The output is something you'd expect from speakers many times their size. That performance is complemented by an Acoustimass module that can be placed in a corner or out of view. Exclusive technology in the module helps provide the emotional intensity you feel at the theater or in a concert hall. Even hidden out of sight, its impact can't be missed.
Sound designed for your room
Your room is unique, with size, shape, textures and other elements affecting the sound you hear. The ADAPTiQ system was developed to analyze your room and then adjust the Lifestyle system's sound for a consistent, high-quality performance.

Size and elegance are a huge factor. To get the loudness and intensity of the sound it produces one would have to stack up several large speakers ( of other brands). You can literally hide the speakers and yet be immersed in sound from all sides.
Easy to program and use as it serves as a well-functioning 'receiver' as well. My 535 has my Roku, blu-ray player, I-pod and wireless transmitter for my projector (Epson 5030 UBe) connected to it...with ports to spare to connect my computer if I want to.
Of note and a minor disappointement was that despite spending $3.5K (bought it when it first came out) I still had to buy a separate
connector/pod for my I-pod...one would think that for that price it would come included (makes the brand look desperate to squeeze money out of customers)
The audio-calibration feature is pretty cool and programs the system to 'sense', calibrate and adjust the output to suit the size/acoustics of the room. If you move it to a different room...it just takes less than 5 minutes to re-calibrate the system to optimize the sound. (Home theater/ISF techs use specialized equipment for this I am told--which comes built into the 535.
The sound of course is as it should be--its a treat to listen to anything play through it...music plays beautifully and the for movies--like being in a movie theater.
I particularly like to see live music videos/dvd/blu-rays on my 114" projector- screen and the complementary trinity of a high-end screen + projector + surround sound from my 535 has left many a vistor saying it is almost as good as having the best seats in a concert !!! (especially if the music blu-ray is re-masterd for 5.1 systems, for example Grammy nominee for surround-sound...
Anesthetize (DVD + Blu-ray)
Though many may argue that for the $3.5K spent on this, a geeky audiophile would/could put together a 'mindblowing' assortment of speakers, amps and what-have-you...but for a busy person like me who does not have the time or inclination to chase the holygrail of pristine sound, nor have the tech-know-how or a buddy that does or the space for that matter to pile up wall-to-wall speakers and amps, this is a well-packaged high-end product that I am very happy with.
Beautiful Surround sound as heard at the Bose store (have to setup based on room and settings)
Sleek speakers that are small and hidden
Not Reliable - sound and video cuts off for all HDMI sources
Get another system that is more reliable for the money.

Changed the rating from 2 stars to 4 stars
Was able to get the unit fixed from Bose as it was still under the 1 year warranty. No issues after the service and drop in sound or images after getting it repaired! Knocking out 1 star as Bose doesn't know what the underlying cause was and no explanation.
Get the system you wont be disappointed with the performance.
I thought about it for a few days and did some shopping on amazon. I originally planned on getting the 525 series, but figured I'd go back to the Bose store and have them demo both for me to hear the difference, if any existed.
Rep at the Bose store played a song on both the 525 and 535, same volume and going in between both systems simultaneously.. And you could hear the difference. Both sound amazing but the 535 was definitely more immersive.
Listening to the system as I write this review and it is absolutely amazing... Big thanks and shout out to Audio Video Sales Guy who I purchased the system from.. At 600 less than what was being asked by either the Bose store or amazon (2,699.99 compared to 3,299.99). Highly recommend them to buy from.. Package came exactly like they said, new.. And the free shipping still arrived in 3 days.
Only gripe I have is for the price, the system should come with a Bluetooth setup for music devices.. Easily remedied with a 30 dollar music player that hooks up to the Bose system with ease.. But still...
