There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
The first time it was broken, the right side didn't function properly that it seemed there was connection problem. Sometimes it cannot screen out the noise and I have to tap on it several times to get it right. I was lucky that the problem happened in the last month of my 1 year warranty so I got to replace with a new one.
So this new one has been only used for 8-9 months, and now the left side doesn't have any sound at all. And I can't do anything with it but to waste the $300 spent on it. Just so upset. I will look for some repair service to get it done but won't buy another Bose product in the future.
I’ve owned a few other (somewhat cheaper) noise canceling headphones, and have also extensively tried out other higher end ones, like the Bose QC15 and QC20, before purchasing the QC25, so I know I chose right. My musical taste is also very diverse, from heavy bass to light vocal solos and acoustics, so I also know the spectrum of sound that these have to offer.
Sound quality. Right out of the box, the QC25 sounded relatively great, but after burning them in for about 125 hours, the sound got much better. The bass hits clean and strong, though it in no-way dominates over anything, and mids and highs come through very clear and balanced. The sound stage is pretty wide from my experience, and given its noise canceling, makes you feel right in front of the music with nothing else there.
Noise Canceling. At low to mid volumes, most (if not all) ambient noise is blocked out, as well as any conversation. At higher volumes, you feel like you’ve traveled to a space where there is only the music that is pumping through your headphones and yourself present; it’s really a relaxing yet thrilling feeling. It truly feels like utilizing a cutting edge technology in the music industry.
Portability. Bose seems to have done everything they could to make these headphones be as portable as possible. They provide a fantastic case that fits the cord and the headphones neatly inside (the headphones fold into a more manageable size too), and it also provides a little compartment to store an extra battery.
Comfort. I haven’t ever had the experience of wearing more comfortable headphones (or earphones) in my life. Period.
Honestly, I can’t really think of any function/form cons; the only thing that is sort of a con is the high price, but that’s expected given the excellent quality and performance of the headphones.
The best noise-canceling headphones I’ve ever had or tried.
Here are my thoughts:
--Bose cheaped out and put fabric at the top. Everything is plastic and leather until you reach the top, then its fabric.... really? I have white headphones, how long do you think the white fabric will remain white. Why did Bose have to go cheap and get rid of the leather. With leather it was easy to clean and maintain. The under part that touches the head is also fabric, again overtime will get pretty nasty dirty.
--The cord has a funky texture that doesn't glide easily when rubbing against other material like my jacket. Because of this, the wire tends to snag a lot.
-- The hi-lo capability not really missed unless you can't figure out how to use your volume button.
-- Not much of a difference in sound quality
-- Not a big impact with the change in case design
-- Bose cord still doesn't interface with android devices (while the stop/play button work, volume cannot be controlled through the cord provided unless using an Apple product)
-- Really liking the ability to listen to music even when battery is low. The noise cancelling ability is fully dependent on battery power.
Overall 3 stars. Would be lower if it was still dependent on battery power for music. If you have the older QuietComfort, don't upgrade.
