Haws watering cans have been a fixture in English gardens since 1886, the year that Londoner John Haws patented his unique design for a “watering pot” with perfect balance. This beautiful watering can is made of pure copper throughout and designed in the traditional Haws style. The copper has not been lacquered, so it will attain a rich patina with age. The spout of the can is both curved and tapered to ensure that the water is directed to where it is needed and at a gentle rate so that the soil does not wash out. It has a removable fine brass oval rose for watering plants and seedlings. Individually boxed. Over the last 125 years the Haws name has become known as the makers of the finest watering cans used throughout the world. Gardeners know that a Haws watering can is the best whether it's made in metal or plastic. 2-pint (1-liter) capacity, copper. Made in England.

The long curved spout allows you to deliver precise amounts of water to flowers and plants. It also allows you to poke the long spout between leaves and flowers so that you can deliver just the right amount to the place in the pot where it is needed. The long curved spout also allows you to balance the tip so that you don't end up with over gushes of water.
As far as attractiveness, copper is one of the prettiest metals. Over time, the copper burnishes to a beautiful golden metallic color. (It also matches the copper pots hanging in my kitchen). This is a real asset around the house as far as looks. It's far better than having plastic stuff for watering. This won't fade or crack if it's left on a sunny window sill.
The spout has a detachable "rose" on the end. Using the rose, you can create a gentle shower for your delicate plants. Remove the "rose" and you can get a nice stream of water from the spout.
The brace at the top which connects the spout to the reservoir makes a nice sturdy handle for carrying this when it's full of water.
The brass rose is removable for plants like African violets or orchids but otherwise, it has a gentle shower that will work for dish gardens and larger pots.
I would also recommend this as a gift to any gardener or house plant lover because the packaging is almost as nice as the pot itself.
