This chair is an OK bargain as long as you pay under 100 dollars. But it does have its issues.

Pros
Affordable for a drafting stool
Adjustable arms
Easy to put together

Cons
Not exceptionally sturdy
Back support isn't really adjustable
Provided instructions might confuse some

I was looking for a stool to use at a computer work station that is specifically 24" high. I needed adjustable arms (for arm support during typing - very important) and just a generally comfortable chair. At this price range (paid about 90 dollars with shipping) it was fine for the job.

The chair really isn't as sturdy as I would have liked. It seems acceptable for me at about 180 pounds. I believe anyone over 200 should seriously look for a stronger chair as it does seem to teeter a little bit. The manufacturer states the chair is usable for people up to 250, but I don't believe that for a second.

Various sites refer to this chair as having a height of 24" or 26". This was confusing as I specifically needed 24". I quickly discovered the discrepancy which should have been clearly explained by seller/manufacturer. The chair has a height of 24" without the casters. It's 26" with. Unfortunately, if you don't use the casters the base has a somewhat rough surface. Boss makes glides that fit this chair, but you have to pay extra for them. I found no one online store that sells the glides which means they probably have to ordered directly from Boss. Or I can just put something generic on the bottom. In any case, if you need the chair to work at 24" or 25" this will be an issue as the casters add 2".

The instructions that came with the chair weren't even for the correct model.

Purchased this Boss Drafting stool with adjustable arms and a foot ring over a year ago. I'm a 6 foot tall, 250 pound man and spend well over two hours a day in this chair. I like it!
It was easy to assemble; all the parts needed were in place and directions clear. Before the purchase I looked at a lot of similar stools and even this one is rated for a person below my body weight, but over a year later and I've no regrets in purchasing it.
Checking back in Dec, 2015 - I've had the stool for over three years and it is still working perfectly. No problems. Yes, I'd purchase it again.

Sturdy drafting stool with foot rest and 5 casters. Love the arm rests, which are adjustable. I have a fairly high work table and the stool can actually raise higher than I need it to. Fabric is high quality and the frame is steel. Should last 50 years+. Great for electronics test bench. Get one, or several.

The chair is well made. The only negative is that their could have been better instructions.

Great chair for my garage work bench. As far as comfort goes the seat is very comfortable but no back adjustment so you sit upright. This is not a problem for me because I'm usually not reclining at my workbench and really just needed a stool. Would have given 5 stars if the back had a little bit of flexibility other than that - Great chair. Good price.

- The chair is really nice looking, comfortable, and seems sturdy, even at its highest adjustment. I have to give it 5 stars, even with the shaky system they used for packing (I'll explain below).
- Some chairs I've used have seats that seem to lean forward, which bothers me. This one is perfectly even. I don't feel like it wants to dump me off. Leaning against the back is also comfortable. The seat and back are both nicely padded (although I'm small, lightweight, so I don't know how others might feel).
- On the outside of the box it was marked as a regular office chair, "B316-BK," not the "B1616-BK" drafting stool that I ordered. But inside, all the parts were there for the "1616".
- Instructions for the "1616" and similar chairs were placed on top of everything. Instructions for the "316" and similar chairs were placed in a plastic bag deeper inside the box.
- The "1616" instructions are a slightly harder to read, over-zeroxed copy, while the "316" instructions are a clear original. So I suspect that the box originally contained a regular chair, was already marked as so, and somebody added the necessary parts to make it a drafting chair. Then they zeroxed a copy of the instructions to lay on top. That's OK, but it could lead to confused orders. I'm lucky, I guess. But they should have changed the marking outside the box to make it clear what was inside for the shippers (and a bit less nervous for me when received).

I bought the Boss drafting stool at the end of 2011 and have used it lightly. It has lived in two locations, one that would get a fair amount of dirt and another that is fairly clean. I have another rolly chair in an equally clean area of my house that somehow gets so much more dirt stuck in its wheels than this one. After about 4 years this chair still rolls around great, which is important for me as I move my chair a lot when I am working and don't want to scratch my floors with locked up wheels.

As for the construction I find this chair a great buy. I wanted something on the cheaper side as this chair is exposed to glue and paint and such, but for the price of around 100 dollars I find it very comfortable and has obviously lasted for a while. The cushions are thick and firm, but not hard. The chair goes up and down with ease, and this can sometimes be hard for me as I weigh close to 100 lbs - some chairs don't go back down! The arms are adjustable for height and width, but the back is stationary. Over the years the arms and back have a slight wiggle to them, but all chairs are prone to this. A tightening of the screws/nuts/bolts holding the parts onto the seat and you're good to go. The fabric and arms show no sign of wear as of early 2016.

For comfort, this chair might be better suited for smaller humans. It is used by myself who is 5'2" at around 100 lbs and another who is 5'7" at 150 lbs. and it fits us great. I could see how it might be a tighter fit for someone who is 6' at 250 lbs, but at least you can move the arms in or out. At the lowest height my knees are fairly bent when resting on the ring, so I would assume it to be too cramped for someone tall. But what do I know, I've never known what it's like to be tall...
