If you could transform your tone into a legendary one whenever you wanted... you'd do it, wouldn't you? Sounds like voodoo, but that's exactly what the Boss FBM-1 pedal does for you. Think of it as a tone genie in a stompbox. With one stomp, you've got the unmistakable flavor and feel of the classic '59 Bassman amp. Expect fat, rich, bright tone that leaps out of your rig. This baby just sounds awesome. And with Presence, Treble, Mid, and Bass EQ controls, you've got the ability to sweeten your sound in your ideal direction. You'll love this pedal - especially if you have a neutral amp, so the FBM-1 can take over with all of its personality.

I'm a solo guitar player. I play mostly acoustic (though through what most would call a ridiculous pedal set-up) and use a lot of looping. My original hope was to try working my electric into the mix without having to lug an amp or use a pod type device, all while using the same signal chain. I was able to get a decent sound with my Epiphone "Dot' running through the FBM-1 straight into a Bose L1 Compact. I do have to say the sound got a bit of a digital fuzz when I rolled the drive up (or stuck my overdrive pedal in front of it). I figure this would have been alleviated if I had this going through a guitar amp like every review I read suggested.
The real trouble came in when I plugged the acoustic into the setup. Adding the guitar's on-board pre-amp into the mix made it all way too loud at normal volumes. Clearly, using both the acoustic and electric through the same signal chain wasn't going to work out. The good news, however, is that once I got the settings dialed in, the acoustic sounded amazing through the FBM-1! I had been using an old Boss Blues Driver for the bite when I needed it, but the FBM-1 set with a little bit of crunch did it way better. Now I'm using the Blues Driver feeding into the FBM-1 and it's really working out.
Now it lives permanently on my paddleboard for acoustic and electric as a preamp/light overdrive and it is just fantastic. When used on an amplifier with a little bit again it allows me to get tube like break up and a nice warm tone. It has a lot of flexibility with attack and opens up as my picking style become more aggressive
I am very pleased with my purchase!
