Concise but still comprehensive, I found it an easy but helpful read.
No question managing your employees is a lot easier in strong economic times than leading through difficult times. Growth periods don't test your intestinal fortitude the way large (or even small) scale problems do, nor do they determine if your managers will stay on track in the heat of battle. Where should managers turn for guidance? Well my recommendation is this book! Whether you want to understand ways to motivate and keep your employees engaged after a brutal layoff, or how to handle the brutal layoff (and keep the company compliant with the ever changing employment laws), or recognizing and dealing with the internal stress (yours and your employees) of working in an ever changing landscape, then let this book be your source for deeper understanding of these topics and many more. Extremely thorough and insightful, this book should be required reading for all mid level and senior managers operating in today's business world.
