Sound is amazing and there is enough bass to warrant your buying decision plus it is good looking in lines of the Bose. You also get controls for 5 different soundfields and a nightmode. An added bonus is that it has Bluetooth and it took all of about 30 seconds to hook up my iPhone 5. If your in the market for a pedestal style soundbar and don't want a lot of clutter, put the TVee One on the shortlist.
In testing the product after it arrived I found myself thrilled with the sound and the simplicity AND everything worked on the first try!
-Bang for the buck (the only one that was better than the TVee One was the Speakercraft at over $100 more and the unit is too large for most bedrooms)
-It's utter simplicity (auto on/off with the tv, it learns only the remote functions you want it to by pushing two buttons so there's no manufacturer codes to trial and error over and over, there are only five different settings for sound processing and no equalizer controls to worry about screwing up ( I only toggle between two settings for all my listening needs)
-Low, sleek, sexy box with rounded corners and more attractive than all but the Bose and LG Sound Plate which are both twice the price at $400.
-The texture on the top of the TVee One is beautifully matte and very grippy, BUT it makes it difficult to clean.
-The system probably(?) lacks the "boom" for a good action movie in a room larger than 16' x 16' (which is a pretty big room)
Do not expect it to be home theater sound... but close enough if you don't want to rattle the windows.
Someone described the symbols on the top/front of the box as cryptic. They're not. Read the instruction book.
The remote... Mine arrived with a dead battery, which I deduced after being unable to program it.
As another revewier suggested, the box needs to be away from a back wall for effective bass.
It neither looks cheap nor ugly for which some have given poor ratings. The TVee One rests discreetly under a 32 inch television with no bright lighting or distractive markings. It's large enough to provide a secure footing for most modern sets.
I have not tried the Bluetooth setup.
I purchased this item in May 2014. Seven months later, the remote stopped working and it is not a battery problem. Per the warranty included in the box, electronic components are warranted for 1 year and mechanical components are warranted for 5 years.
I contacted Boston Accoustics and they insisted the remote was out of warranty (90 days). I sent them an email with a copy of the written warranty included with the unit. They ignored it?
No where in any of the warranty information is this stated. They appeared to have made this up to avoid honoring their written warranty. Customer Service indicated I needed to buy a new remote and said to contact the parts department.
So far, the unit works fine, but if it fails within the written warranty period I'm not sure if they will honor the warranty. I wouldn't bet on it.
