Looks: they look very nice and have a nice professional "shine" or hue to it. Although after a lot of use they do get wrinkled at the toe joint area (from movements such as tiptoeing and bending the shoe) and it shows but it doesn't make too much a difference to me as people should not be staring at my shoes.
The sides of the shoes do kind of cut into your heels at first so I recommend wearing cushioned socks.
These are great shoes especially for the price. I got them for about $25 from a slickdeal's notice! If the price is good I'll probs get a pair in brown!
I suppose you can imagine, with being from Wisconsin and all, that snow, ice, and slush are a huge factor where I live. Since getting these shoes I have slipped and fallen on ice twice because of the poor soles getting worn out so soon! I never once slipped and fell in my old shoes. My old shoes were a random pair I got from Goodwill while in college (new marked as used) and they lasted me 5 years... these are only 6 months old and have caused me to fall and get hurt twice. You would think a company would at least invest in a decent material for the soles of their shoes, considering that's where your feet make contact.
Well, hopefully this review helps someone out there. If it weren't for the soles essentially being worthless, these would be great shoes. I just don't see the soles of them making it more than a year, and I never expected I would be looking at buying another pair of dress shoes so soon!
Bostonian Men's Maynor Walk Oxford, Brown, 8 M. fit was just right.
The great thing about this shoe is the light weight.
It seem to be well made.
When the shoes first arrived it had a strong smell. So I left the shoes out for three days and the smell went away.
The first time I tried the shoes on, they felt extremely tight on my feet. And I was ready to return them. But I wore them for one day and the fit lose-sen up. Now they fit just right. So wear them in for one day.
I highly recommend they shoes. But remember I only had these shoes for a month. I do not know if they will last.long term. So a long term test is not in this review.
There is a similar Bostonian shoe called the Maynor Cap Oxford. Looks identical except it has a toe cap, but be careful of that one, for some reason it is sized differently and in a size 10 is a full 1/2 to 1 size smaller than this one.
I normally wear an 8 1/2, d width shoe but the sizing assistant recommended a 9, d width shoe. The 9 would have been a good fit but the shoe was too tight across the top of my foot. It was very uncomfortable just to have it on. An E width would probably have been better.
